Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) - Part 1

The only other well known Kaiju I know is Gamera because of Death Battle but I don't think he's in this is he?

Would have been hilarious to see this with modern effects:funny:.

Do you think things like these were considered totally ok in their time period or as wtf as they feel now? :D

I hope there is a plausible explanation of Kong’s absence in KoTM (assuming there’s no crazy twist and he’s in the film!), that is explained in KvG.

Why does anything need to be explained about why Kong isn't in this? He lives on a remote island in the middle of the ocean.

Kong is less mobile than the monsters in this, Godzilla is aquatic , he travels the oceans and the other three can fly.
Gorillas, even giant ones, aren't really built for long journeys by sea.
Kong has his island, his territory, unless another monster comes to him he's not going to get involved.

Unless KvG takes place on Skull Island, I can see Monarch going to there to get Kong in order to get him involved.
Or he could hitch a ride with Rodan, assuming he survives KoTM

Luring Godzilla to Skull Islands sounds easier than capturing and transporting Kong.

But maybe we shouldn't be expecting realism from monster movies.

Just my own take but... Even at his great size Kong is not standing up to a tsunami that occurs naturally. I would have Skull Isle get walloped by a tsunami. It washes Kong away and he ends up coming ashore somewhere in the civilized world. This makes him a new "Titan" threat that has to be dealt with by the outside world.

I'm sure that the actual film will have something more akin to him being either captured or manipulated though.

Apparently there is a KoTM feature in latest Total Film magazine, as part of 2019 most anticipated.
Anyone seen it? Any new pics?

Maybe there will be no conflict in K v/s G and they just fight a friendly fight for charity.

Michael Dougherty’s to Total Film.
“We have a lot of monsters,” the filmmaker said. “I think Gareth [Edwards] had a lot of fun playing cat-and-mouse and I love the slow-build he created. But we definitely take the gloves off for this film. No holding back.”
