I can't believe it's that "bad" though? Like the first one got 75% on RT, which was surprising to me. This looks more of the same but with more kaiju fighting so you'd think it would be in the same ballpark.

Wouldn't it be natural that this movie would be physically dark?
It's about creatures that breathe fire. fire leads to smoke, things can be dark in situations like that.

Is the current RT score a disappointment? Sure, but to be honest, I was expecting a score in the low 60s for this anyway. I too was shocked when Godzilla 2014 got a 75%, but I never thought this would be better reviewed. I expected more smash less plot, and it seems to be part of the reason for the score. I am just hoping this does well at the BO and that Godzilla vs Kong is also successful. I want to get as much Godzilla content as possible! Heck, I'd be in geek heaven if Legendary could make a Godzilla vs Gamera movie happen!!! Secure those rights!!! :cmad:

But let's start with hoping that fans enjoy this one, and so does the beloved movie going public. I will have an informed opinion on this topic tomorrow night

If we get a proper sequel to this beyond vs Kong, I want to see Jet Jaguar. But he has to come with his iconic theme.

Well, obvious next antagonist for Godzilla is probably Mechagodzilla. Though I still think he may be in Godzilla vs Kong somehow. But that's purely my speculation. I just don't see Godzilla vs Kong being at odds the entire movie. They more than likely have to come together for some purpose, and Mechagodzilla would do it. But yeah, who doesn't want Jet Jaguar!!!!

Martha will bring them together....

Yeah, Mechagodzilla would be cool, and make logical sense. I'm also thinking they might try and get Destroyah, which would be pretty cool.

But yeah, who doesn't want Jet Jaguar!!!!
People with no taste lol

I am guessing this was in reply to points made by other people, because I never made the argument that critics are wrong. My argument is simply I am likely going to like the movie based on my past experience with Godzilla films.
Yeah, sorry, I was just kind of following the thread of discussion. Was not directed directly at you.

Shame about the reviews. But... John Wick 3 has almost a 90% on RT. And I’m sorry, that movie barely had a story, and while the characters were fun, they were also paper thin. Wick himself barely has a personality in this one; he’s basically just a blunt instrument who can’t die. And I guess that’s okay but unless Godzilla KOTM is just straight-up garbage in the story and character department, I wonder if maybe some of these critics are being too hard on this movie when they’re giving other weak action films a pass. Just an observation though; I need to see the film before I can accurately make this assessment.
Someone lives under, under the table. I guess that would be under the floor? :o

Still planning on seeing it. If I enjoy it, I enjoy it. That's what matters to me. If not, well, I'll deal with it.

Not exactly letting these reviews dictate my thoughts on the movie before I see it.

Audiences loved King of the Monsters but critics don’t want you to see it… The question is why??? Trust the people and see it for yourself!

Yeah, I don't buy that at all, LOL! I know people are more harsh or feverishly in love with with things that are fresh in their minds (always one of the two), but come on...there is just no way this is a worse disaster than the Emmerich film. I cannot take that seriously.
Remember when people were calling BvS the worst Superman or Batman movie yet? And people were like, "that is BS, the critics are wrong, no way that is worse then Batman and Robin and the Quest for Peace" and then you saw it and were like, "damn... damn."
