DC Television Gotham Knights Series In Development at CW

I mean, its Runaways with Bat-related characters. I'm not entirely sure what people were expecting, but it was clear that this show was going to be about the teenage drama.

This whole thing is a giant wind up, right?

Has there been any Positive reaction at all since the trailer released?
I havent seen any in my radius but that isnt a surprise, but i wonder if there is some positive feelings towards this.

I honestly haven’t seen any positive reactions at all. Sad to say, but even Batwoman got some positive reactions when they released their first trailer

The most backlash- deservedly, I feel- from Batwoman's first trailer was Kate's line about how the Batsuit would be perfection when it fits a woman.

But yeah, it was more positive than Gotham Knights. Batwoman at least had the goodwill of coming off of a pretty good introduction in the Elseworlds crossover.

I gonna still check it out when it airs but won’t cry if it never sees the light of day.

It would be weird if this is still going to air when cancelling Batgirl was all about "protecting the brand." This looks just as bad, maybe even worse.

Yeah I try to be opened minded about a lot of things but this show doesn’t look really good at all.

If I'm Zalsav and want to protect the DC brand then this would be the first thing I cancel.

They should send Batgirl over to Gotham Knights.

Last I heard before the cancellation, it was given a series order.

Yeah, its El Maybe, so don't take it too seriously. And while cancellations of shows have happened after a renewal/series order have happened, it is not quite that common.

And seriously, don't take any talk of "protecting the brand" seriously. That talk is all tied up in racism and transphobia with Batgirl. Because, lets not forget who is still ostensibly a major face of the brand.

I still can't believe that Zaslav canceled so many projects but grinlit this.

Sacrificing promising projects while this gets a full season order, is quite clearly telling you that there is no God.

Still the only positive reactions i see to this are along the lines of "Eh will check it out, doesnt look good but i give it a chance."

I have not seen one person go "Wuhu, yes...cant wait for this."

The Discovery only deal closed in April. Gotham Knights got its pilot order only a month later and from the CW, which is now owned by Nexstar. If anything, that's more the CW's doing, not WBD. More so since WBD doesn't own Nexstar.

"Only a month later" doesn't mean anything as it was still under Zaslav's tenure, like so many other shows that he himself cancelled near that same period of time.

But regarding CW in specific, does this mean that all the axing of their DC shows has nothing to do with the Discovery merging? That it would happen anyways?
