Once Upon A Time is doing really well also. Fairytales are in right now. Just like superheroes currently.
What's with Hollywood and their new obsession about fairy tales, that everyone wants to rush out the adaptation based on the same story at the same time?![]()
We have no clue tone/direction or script will be yet. So the whole spiel about modern retelling could me nothing. Or be more like what sv did. It was a modern retelling of superman mythos, did its own things, and tossed in some comics stuff too.
So just cause cw under dawn was just teen soaps for female demos. Is no way to judge the new guy.
So come on we already know he wants to change things, get more genre shows, more male demos
Sex In The City was a huge hit so of course he is going to try to get a hit off of a "prequel" series. Dawn was more about the rich life style if anything.
A slightly negative way to think of their approach to it is that Wonderwoman was a modern retelling in a modern world with little basis in the comics, just like todays report about GA - and that from the get go was just awful.
I'm all for retooling the origin from the 40's. But guess what - they did that perfectly with Year One.
So....what does everyone want the costume to look like? Would you throw stones if it was a slightly modified version of Smallvilles GA?
As shocked as I am to say this I have to agree with you. GA on Smallville was done well. At first I had a problem because they were making him more like Bruce Wayne but really what they did was just took the friendship Batman and Superman had and gave it to GA instead. That was really the only change in him. Although I like the fact that there was no love lost in the comics between Superman and Green Arrow. I liked the fact that they respected one another but were not friends. That's how they started out on Smallville but some how he morphed into a Batman/Green Arrow hybrid which is not bad but not great either. I thought they should not have had him marry Chloe I mean they already did drop hints of a GA/BC relationship and should have followed up on it and he did over stay his welcome. But for an elseworld version he was enjoyable. That's exactly how I'd like it to look, I thought Green Arrow was probably the best thing Smallville ever did, the actor and costume update were both spot on IMO.
I agree that he was better when he was only a guest star. I think what killed GA was Chloe and the fact they started to make him to much like Batman. Also what really hurt him is that he "killed" Lex. However I still enjoyed him and the show for what it was but felt the "Superman" was a big FU to anyone who watch the show for that moment.I'm assuming you're referring to when they debuted him in Season 6? Then, I agree.
It was Seasons 8,9 and 10 when they completely ruined his character.
I'm still surprised they let him avoid prison for murdering Lex.
he took screen time away from Clark
The only reason why Clark was ruined was because that show should have became Superman 3 seasons before it ended and then the big Superman moment at the end was just wrong.Well he did actually kill the real Lex Luthor.
The one in the SV finale was a clone comprised of the best parts of the failed clones. Franken-Lex.
I didn't mind that. They screwed up Clark seasons ago. It was really hard to root for his character, which made Green Arrow really stand out in S6 as better.
It just sucks they had to wreck GA's character when he became a regular in an attempt to forcefully elevate Clark.
Really? I thought the brain was from the real Lex. It's stupid comic book science, but still...
