Green Arrow the Movie, anyone?

Honestly, it felt like they were giving him the same problems that they give to all the other characters who aren't Clark, ex: Lana, Chloe etc

I don't think it had anything to do with the comics. It was them intentionally trying to make Oliver shady to elevate Clark as the person who redeems him.

I'm sure you're right. I just didn't really notice because I thought "This is the same guy who beat the crap out of his junkie adopted son."

I like the idea of Mann doing a gritty Green Arrow movie. Forget the martial arts training. Make him just a man and his bow. Basic skills are welcome but at the end of the day he should be able to get his ass kicked hand to hand by competent martial artists. I want him to just be a man who wants to do good with what few skills he has. He didn't train overseas for 10 years, he's not a doctor in criminology, he's just a survivalist who's really good with a bow. Play up those two aspects, play up Oliver the hunter (and at some point in the script maybe become the hunted by the likes of Merlin who HAS been formally trained by the League of Shadows) and you have yourself a damn good movie (and possibly a low budget one at that).

I like this idea.

Nothing about movie but Im just posting the "Arrow" Tv series trailer

Which honestly looks to be on the same level of some movies. The production values are pretty insane for a CW show.

This looks awesome. When i first heard of this series I thought it was going to be a spinoff of Smallville. But, this is waaaaaaaaaaaaay better.

I'm glad they're not trying to make this the next "Smallville" by the look of things. I also like the idea of Oliver having an immediate living family, which distinguishes him a bit from Batman and Iron Man, which this show is clearly taking a lot of cues from already.

After seeing Hawkeye in live action keeping up with major heroes like Iron Man and Captain America, I'm a lot more confident that it could work.

Does someone think that the Arrow show might open up for an actual Green Arrow movie in the future?

(With another cast, I mean)

Joel Kinnamann(The Killing) for Green Arrow

I can definitely see that :) Solid choice

I liked the Supermax idea that was floating around a few years ago, too bad that never happened, could have been interesting.

Ugh, Green Arrow doesn't need to be gritty. Also, LOL that MAnn would ever do a comic book movie, let alone one based on a B-list hero.

A motion picture Green Arrow would have other actors than in the show. And I suggest Devon Sawa and Charlie Hunnam for the lead.

I dont need a green arrow movie. Just include him in Justice League would do.

Green Arrow already got a TV show, but I think when it comes to movies, if WB struggles to even put WW and Flash on the big screen, I don't see how GA will get his solo movie given his relatively low pecking order. Besides, I'm sure we'll see Hawkeye in his own spin-off movie before GA would get his.

Raiden: It seems like Green Arrow is included in Warner Brothers plans for solo films, along with Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Shazam, Suicide Squad and Lobo. Forgive me if I have forgotten a character.
Variety and other sites have reported this.

If we get a Green Arrow movie I'd like it to feature a 40-something Oliver "ollie" queen / Green Arrow, with his trademark goatee and wearing the classic costume.

When will we get to see Oliver Queen in DCU? Or in a stand-alone DC film?
Can it be successful? If so, how many sequels?
Maybe the wish for Oliver Queen to meet Hal Jordan can come true? Either in Green Arrow, film or a Green Lantern film (possibly a sequel to HIS first).
It will be cool, yes. Something I would very much want to see.

But there is a problem. How will it be explained in the plot? It doesn't even seem logical that a Lantern would need help from an archer, much less a human without any powers.
Can it be something with his trick arrows? What can he else bring to the team-up? Green Arrow fighting a cosmic threat seems a little misplaced.
Could the Batman/Superman route be the way to go, having Oliver as a smart-ass and Hal as the overpowered one. They're also an unlikely duo but the as we know, the World's Finest duo has proved to work.

Hey, If The Phantom and Mandrake could defend the Earth from the otherwordly Ming and his army, I guess Emerald Archer can face something similar too.

I wouldn’t want a GA that fights cosmic or global threats. I’d prefer a hyper-political GA that fights for the poor and marginalized of Star City. Think a more flamboyant and more political version of Netflix’ Daredevil.

I love Arrow but they didn’t go political with it. It’s mostly just Batman-lite. If they do a movie, I’d want it to be hyper-political as well. That’s what would set the film apart, it should tackle real issues.

Maybe the movie could deal with Count Vertigo as the head of a (meta) human trafficking ring.

It should be low budget, heavy on story, less on spectacle. Real gritty, visceral action scenes. I’d also like a hard R rating, but BOP proved it’s not necessary.

To be honest, that Supermax script was such a wonderful concept. They should probably just revamp that. It could be a thoughtful commentary on the broken prison system in America.

With Black Canary already being introduced in Birds of Prey it makes sense for Oliver Queen to be introduced now

Is it such a good idea to continue with that iteration? That movie was a colossal failure. I was personally a fan but idk if it’s a good idea to continue with those actors/characters
