Green Arrow the Movie, anyone?

...Wow has that story arc become common with superheroes.

DIANE KRUGER FOR BLACK CANARY!

dkmk1_46407.jpg

Although she's my choice for Catwoman, she's apparently not in the running for any role for The Dark Knight Rises and she could definitely pull off Black Canary as well.

...Huh...I can see that. Even if she is a tand on the bland side in the looks department.

Are you serious? Compare her to SMG (who I heard someone suggest before on here) and a lot of other actresses that have been attached to roles in comic book films (ahem Maggie Gyllenhaal, Katie Holmes, Kirsten Dunst) she's hot as hell.

Nnnot to me. And I suggested SMG. I had to check IMDB to make sure she wasn't over 40 and too old for the part. She's just bland looking to me. All the women you listed are hotter than her. And I thought Kirsten Dunst looked bland before but this chick just took the cake for me. Now if you suggested the other chick from Inglorious Basterds we would be on the same page.

Exactly. For Green Arrow I was thinking types like Jerry O'Connell and Mark Paul Gosselaar (Zack from Saved By The Bell, who's actually come a long way in his career since). People with that loud, almost obnoxious and brash attitude who can still be serious when they need to be.

I could see either one of them. I think Mark Paul would do good by being in an action/drama tv show. Does that Law show even still come on TNT, with him and Gunn from Angel?

As for Black Canary (and I'm trying my best not to think of Whedon actors but can't help it), how about Elizabeth Rohm (Detective Lockley from Angel). Or Diane Neal (Law and Order: SVU).

Rohm would be good. She looked kind of on the bigger side on Angel, but I saw her more slim and fit on another tv show. Heck Law and Order has had so many fine actresses almost all of them could be Black Canary lo. The blonde assistant D.A. is fine, the new detective who was Stabler's partner is fine lol.

Did you ever see that Angel knock off show Moonlight or something with Vampire Detective lol. The female detective who was also in Underworld could be good as Black Canary IMHO. Other than that I think a lot of blondes could work, but I would like to see some non-blonde actresses try for the role.

Trying not to say Ali Larter or Nathan Fillion cause they're the fanboy choices for everything under the sun but I like them too.

Not familiar with Fillion, but yeah, I'm tired of Ali Larter in every action role for a blonde. She's the blonde version of Eliza Dushku, I think lol.

Nope. Lasted all of 2 seasons. When shows like this one and others last only this long I'm boggled as to how Smallville pulled off 10 seasons (and I like that show but think of how many better show got only half that).

Never did bother to watch that one considering it's the same premise and it's one of those things where I'd just be comparing the shows all the time. Boreanez on Bones is still weird to me and that show outlasted Angel already.

And yeah they'd be great too. Funny thing is all those women I've also suggested for Ms. Marvel. I guess the two characters just have a lot in common.

What's also funny is BC is a brunette and no-one has suggested one yet. lol It's hard to think of someone who'd look good with both short black hair and a blonde wig. I am curious to see what Monica Baccarin (Inara from Firefly and Black Canary herself on JLU) would look like as a live action Black Canary though. Can't quite picture the blonde wig working. I liked Canary more when she decided to "grow it long and blonde" as she put it.

Haha exactly why I try not to suggest her. Same with Fillion who's about as popular around here as Reynolds and Depp. I mean yeah they'd fit the roles but it just feels uninspired after a while. Kind of like casting R Lee Ermy as a military authority. It's kind of "Well no ****" at that point and it's not as fun as seeing a left field Heath Ledger type of choice.

Damn they canceled that show. I just promised myself I would try to give it a shot lol. Oh well. They should have let him keep the long hair lol.

Never watched Moonlight really. I saw one episode, but the female detective from Underworld looks promising.

I can't really see Monica as a blonde, IMO. She does great voice work and is good in other roles, Terminator, but I don't see her as a blonde working, nor a mature woman type yet.

I could see Darla from Angel and No Modern Family as BC, but her voice is so damn annoying hahaha.

Haha really? I love her voice. Reminds me of the chick from Chasing Amy...Holy ****. What ABOUT Joey Lauren Adams as Black Canary? I'd be with you on Julie Benz if it wasn't for No Ordinary Family. Something about her playing two superheroines doesn't rub me the right way. Though she would make a good Black Canary.

EDIT: Woooah...Adams is 42...When did that happen? I don't need my Black Canary THAT old. Damn. Had the craziest crush on her growing up too.

HAHAHA.....rule of thumb everyone is 10 years older than what they play on screen LMFAO.

Yeah since Julie is doing NOF, I guess she is out.Oh sh** what about the chick who played the evil blonde on Buffy, Clare Kramer. BAM...I think we have our Black Canary http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1414170112/nm0004456

Aaah, Glory. From a visual standpoint, hell yes, but I'm gonna have to see her in other things. I've only seen her as that character and she's kind of an over the top ditsy type.

Yeah, the only other role I know her for is Bring It On and she was ditzy in that, but after reading her bio she seems to have quite a bit of training, plus it has been sometime where she was in something notable.

Then hey, I don't see why not. People have surprised me before. I'd really rather see this show over Raven but who knows. Maybe that'll provide some good Teen Titans action.

Something tells me that Raven show is going to be less Titans and more Supernatural, Buffy, Charmed oriented lol. I'm guessing we won't even see any of the DC hero characters until the second season, and that's if the first season story arc doesn't do well.

This thread doesn't seem to be flooded with much other people talking about Green Arrow but I think it'd be pretty cool if this Raven show was in continuity with Smallville. That way Lee Thompson Young's Cyborg can show up every now and then as well as Impulse. Mia's speedy would probably show up as well and Tom Welling appearances as Supes would just be...awesome. I'm really looking forward to this show based on it's potential alone.

But yeah, I'm expecting major stories involving Trigon and demon hunting and the like. They'll probably even make up a supporting cast of characters nobody has heard of since the Titans would have to be eased in the way the League was on Smallville.

But hey, keeping with the thread, years down the line, how awesome would it be to be Justin Hartley show up with the longer hair and goatee as Green Arrow?

Sorry, for the late reply. It's the Holidays and ironically the only time I really get on SHH is when I'm AT work lol. Yeah, that guest appearance by Hartley would be dope. I always liked when past characters came back and reprised the roles that made them famous or had a strong fan following. For me that would be like having Jason (Austin St. John) come back to be a ranger on Power Rangers. Yeah, I'm a grown man, but when I was a kid that was one of the best things ever to see when someone comes back.

I would like to see they go the more Superhero route with Raven as opposed to the supernatural/demon hunting theme. That has been overdone to death on CW. It's time for a change.

Brad Pitt for Green Arrow. Remember that beard and mustache he was sporting... kinda made him look like Green Arrow.

Brad Pitt for dag near anybody lol. If Bradd was Green Arrow now that could be a good film, especially if they do it in the style of 7.

Brad Pitt for GA? That's like 1/4 of the movie budget is for Mr. Pitt's salary.

Yeah, but Brad brings a following. Only problem I see occurring is that an actor of his stature probably wouldn't do a sequel unless it was a really good script.

Haha I know how you feel. I'd always geek out when old actors reprise their roles. I'm not sure I see how A Raven show can be all that super-heroic though. At least not without other heroes. She's not exactly the patrolling for thugs type. Now patrolling for supernatural creatures, yeah. Which just ends up bringing it back to that supernatural/demon hunting theme.

As for Green Arrow, movie or tv show, my dream actor for the role is still Woody Harrelson.

As you can see, baldness is not a problem.

Pitt, though would just be...fantastic if he ever agreed to such a movie.

Why? Cuz he looks good with a goatee?

No, because he can pull off the character. Just picture him doing the scene where he confesses to Mia that he cheated on Dinah. Woody Harrelson's a good actor and has just enough range to pull off a character like Oliver Queen. Straight, fun and loving father figure as well as loudmouth obnoxious liberal. Zombieland, No Country for Old Men, yeah, this is the guy.

Woody can be good with a cheaper paycheck. But can he take off the goofy face? Or maybe Woody can instill a new brand of Oliver Queen, like the way RDJ did with Tony Stark.

I think he'd eat up the role, really. He can turn off the goofiness. Though I think a little goofiness for Ollie would actually work considering how rarely he takes anything seriously. Hell, I think Roy is more serious (I vote Jensen Ackles on that one, btw).

He remained serious in No Country For Old Men and (SURPRISINGLY) Semi-Pro (but that could just be because Will Ferrel makes everybody around him look tame by comparison), since I'm thinking about recent movies I've seen him in.

I think he'd be able to do for Green Arrow what RDJ did for Iron Man, really. I'd like Pitt myself since he's not only a good actor but a pretty funnny fellah but something about that choice just makes me think "Yeah, that guy won't even read the script."

...Though, Christ, if I had to choose anybody to be the American Christian Bale...

Not gonna count out Matthew McConaughey either, though. He'd certainly fit this more than Captain America, which people kept suggesting way back when.
