but not bad enough to destroy the movie...

No you're right, But like Crimson said. It's better if he's an enrichment to the greater whole.

they might have reduced Drax to a more physical role than an acting one, who knows...so in that case it wouldn't matter too much who they cast... I say lets see something before we judge...hell I personally was surprised by Pratt being cast as Star-Lord

Me too but if you know what he can look like when he loses weight you can kinda see it. But more importantly he can act. I think nowadays they can even CG your gut away if need be. But he got in shape for ZD30 so who knows.

I can't really see that scene being done that much better. His character in the film didn't really require an amazing actor or even much acting. I didn't think he was worse than the rest of the cast. Even Russell Crowe sort of phoned that one in. Not the best film to judge anyone's acting ability.

0:13-0:14 tells me all I need to know about this guy and his acting. Provided this movie was lame in it's entirety.

like I said I can't remember watching anything and said to myself something like 'wow the way this person is playing a character really makes me non-interested in this movie/tv show/whatever.'

Sabretooth in X1 comes to mind

IMO I think casting Star-Lord and Drax were pretty easy and they casted who they felt would do the best job; casting Gamora, Rocket and Groot (and possibly Thanos) maybe a little more difficult.

Seriously? Just by how he looks at his hand, you are convinced he's hopeless?

Can someone point out bad acting in a movie to me? I seriously have never said to myself, 'wow this acting is terrible', when watching anything. I don't think so at least.

Wow you can't be serious?

I'd feel safe in calling that bad filmmaking rather than just singling out the acting.

Yeah, with roles in schlocky action movies like this, wrestlers tend to stick with their hammy WWE shtick I think. Problem is, a lot of them bring that to other roles where it's less appropriate. The better ones, like the Rock, will know when to bring some more dramatic weight to the table.

Here's hoping Bautista does, because he was indeed pretty terrible in that clip.

Don't be hating on those SyFy movies.

Who said anything about hating them? I love the awful things. When I'm in the mood I can watch a couple of them and spend hours laughing myself silly. There is the added bonus of seeing formerly respectable actors hamming it up in ridiculous roles (e.g. Eric Roberts, Julia's brother and Emma's dad, in Sharktopus).

Please, point out what he could have done differently/better.

I do like the new mask for Starlord, although the classic one is just so iconic IMO but it makes total sense that they would use the new one in the movie, because that's always the problem with masks that cover the entire face, this is a movie, although Iron Man and Spidey beg to differ (although they do show both in Iron Man movies and TASM with their masks off), so it'd be kind of disappointing not to see Pratt's face, and facial expressions in action.

Here you go mkilban2 ^this^ is bad acting.
I didn't see anything wrong with that Man with the Iron Fists clip. Did you not like the way he said "ow" ??

Any SyFy Original Film. Actually, pretty much any movie shown on SyFy.
I understand sci-fi movies on the syfy channel are generally silly and bad, but I haven't sat down and watched a movie on that channel, no point in wasting 2 hours on a movie that won't interest me like sharktopus lol

Sabretooth in X1 comes to mind
I get this reference, but I always thought of that role as a poorly written character who was supposed to be Magnetos willing (unwilling?) pawn, not the actors job of saying his 4 grunts in the whole movie.

Wow you can't be serious?

so the examples I've gotten from people 2 are from movies that are decades old that I'll never see or have seen and 1 one actually Batista in MwtIF which I didn't have a problem with. Makes me wonder if you guys have seen acting that is bad recently or if your standards are way too high.

Manny from Modern Family is one I can see for sure that almosts forces lines, but he gets my pass because he's a 14 year old kid haha.

Whatever I'm done arguing this point. I won't win vs yall :)

Not very good. :oldrazz:

That clip isn't exactly Shakespeare, and he seems perfectly fine in it. And actually pretty badass with that voice.

"My clans is extinct... I killed them." That was cool. And it's a short clip anyway, poor way to judge him.

I also was rooting for Momoa, but I would give this guy a chance. He certainly has good exotic face for Drax.

I think he has a really unusual and interesting face. I have no doubt he's going to nail the badass part, we'll see for the rest. I'm pretty sure they'll blow everybody's minds with Rocket Raccoon's casting and Groot.

I want Warlock in the movie though, so weird he's supposedly just rumored to be in it, as he's a key character in GOTG, Charlie Hunnam would be perfect by the way for the role.

I'm skipping through The Man With The Iron Fists right now, and the entire movie seems rather lackluster. And Bautista is hardly the most terrible thing in it. He's actually decent, for what he has to do in the Movie. Give him an acting coach and he might actually be good.
