How do you feel about RDJ's Tony Stark? Movie Tony is far more snarky and glib than comic book Tony, who's always been fairly serious and grounded. There's quite a departure there.
Saying the movie Drax is going to be more accessible and well liked to mass audiences is a no brainer. It's not like Guardians is a huge deal within the comic book community, let alone the mainstream. It's like when people thought Green Lantern was black for years because of the Justice League cartoon.
There is a Black Green Lantern in the comics; John Stewart has been around since 1971, long before those cartoons were made. Hal Jordan was the first human Lantern but he was hardly the last. I going to assume you know this, which makes your comment that much more of a fail.
Just pointing out with Guardians of the Galaxy.
Pretty sure the movie is being made to help explain Thanos to those who are unaware of him. Thanos will likely cameo in flashbacks. Drax is the main villain because like the comics; "Arthur Douglas was a human whose family was attacked and killed by the supervillain Thanos"
Which makes no sense given the Avengers continuity unless Guardians of the Galaxy takes place after Avengers 2 - or they mess with the plot and change it to the chitauri who were ordered by Thanos killed his family.

Um, I'm pretty sure Drax was never actually a villain, his one and only goal was just to kill Thanos and anyone who got in the way of that was his enemy. I think the only time he ever did something villainous was when Warlock was helping Thanos...and in that case he turned out to be in the right because Thanos ended up betraying Warlock and Gamora in that story.No.....Drax is a hero, and part of the GOTG.
You're referring to the older pre-2004 version of Drax, who was a cheap and obscure Marvel villain. In 2004, during Annihilation, Drax was drastically retconned into a blade-slinging badass who helped fight off the Annihilation Wave. He became a hero, and joined the rebooted version of GOTG in 2008. That's the GOTG we're getting in this movie, and the Drax we're getting in this movie.

So according to Jim Sturgess Star-Lord will be a type of Han Solo space pirate. Makes me think he'll start out as Star-Lord in the film and we see his origin through flashbacks.

I'd love if the Movie just starts with a big fight and you get flashbacks detailing how he assembled the Team.
