I mean, I don’t think you even need to read the book for that since every single adaptation has always had the monster as sympathetic and the doctor as the villain. That ain’t new to the movies lol

From what I’ve read the Creature actions are white-washed. He doesn’t frame Victor’s servantmaid and doesn’t kill his younger brother. He never attacks first.

That's an interesting choice to make. I feel like doing that kinda undermines some of the themes, but guess we'll see how it plays out.

This movie closes the cycle.
