Saw the trailer, it's definitely interesting. It actually has a kind of Bioshock feel to it. Basically the Gillman becomes the infatuation of a mute woman working at the facility. I saw it's rated R for sexual content, graphic nudity and some violence so I don't know what the **** Del Toro is planning, lol.

I know Doug Jones is basically reprising his Abe Sapien role but he looks more CG than practical. Like a greenish color with a bunch of spots like some fish have. Same black eyes like Abe Sapien but you only see quick shots of him in the water tank.

The creature looks a lot like Abe Sapien. Beautiful design in it's own right, but I'm a bit disappointed by how derivative it is.

That was definitely not what I was expecting. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like my cup of tea. Not a fan of the unimaginative creature design, Shannon's character seems cartoonishly evil and I'm not sure Del Toro can deliver on the weird romantic comedy tone the trailer seems to be implying.

Also not big on the 50s setting, just a period that's never appealed to me, and part of the reason why I don't like the Fallout games.

If this movie ends with him dead and the mute woman pregnant with his baby, it would be in tune with Del Toro's style, but I'd be like...naw.

Trailer was lovely though it seemed to have more of a Burton or Januet vibe than Del Toro.

It had a much more whimsy tone than I think I've previously felt from GDT.

I saw the trailer, which I was very intrigued by, during a showing of WFTPOTA. And knew just by the look of the footage it was a Del Toro movie. In fact the film's setting looked very similar to the BPRD headquarters. The movie looks likes the definition of what a Del Toro love story would be.

Yeah I'm somewhat surprised by not just how similar the design is but how similar the whole tank and underground facility are.

One thing to remember I guess is how little Del Toro's Abr Spaien actually has to do with the comic source material. Also g with the Creature from the black lagoon, hrskstly riffing on his own work.

Fish gave all kinds d of strange abilities and spines and such. I'm working dering if there is more than meets the eye here.
