The Dark Knight Rises Guy Pearce on Batman 3, The Dark Knight, and Heath Ledger

Yes he did.. But what if someone else gives a great performance this year? We have to acknowledge performances when they performed

But Ledger IMO has set the bar high for this years nominees We'll see who the acdemy stacks up against him

apparently theres a lot of talk about oscar nom for Mickey Rourke for his performance in The Wrestler or whatever its called. that'll probs be for best actor not supporting actor.

Its funny i remember watching Memento for the first time just before i saw BB, then i immediatly thought Guy would be perfect for the Riddler. I think if Nolan decides to use Riddler and has full control over casting i think Guy will 100% get the nod. I just think Nolan would believe Guy would be perfect aswell. Another brilliant role he had was in LA Confidential, he played a honest cop but still came across arrogant and edgy, traits perfectly suited to the Riddler.

Wow in one post we went from arguing about two of the best actors of the last 10-15 years to introducing james spader into the fold...

Hey, I just don't like arguing. I was just throwing a name out there of an actor who could play the role.

Is James Spader not good enough? He was awesome in the Secretary and
Sex,Lies, and Videotape...

What I was stating in my last post is one of the reasons why I don't think Guy gets many roles. I like Guy and Depp alot but I am not sure Riddler is their gig. I would like to see Guy challenge himself to play a character like that and it probably helps that he starred in Memento with Chris Nolan directing...

Agreed.

Depp fits Joker more then Riddler.

Pearce would make a better Riddler IMO.

i've just finished watching Memento again, and my belief that Guy Pearce was born for the Riddler role is cemented even more.

James Spader is a fine actor but nowhere near the caliber of Depp and Pearce-John Goodman can be great from time to time but that doesn't mean I want him for Rupert Thorne-Nic Cage can be really underratedly amazing from time to time but should he be the black mask? No.

Plenty of actors are fine and have good movies, but I think if the conversation is between Depp Pearce and Spader, I think you can give Spader a handshake and say see ya later buddy.

For as uninsipired of a choice as people make Depp out to be, if tomorrow Spader is cast as Riddler I am almost as underwhelmed as when the rumors where going that Michael Anthony Hall was Riddler. They both just seem like the Fox way of casting supporitng roles, sure people really like them-the people that watch their cable television shows. Go with the guys that will give you a unique performance Depp and Pearce will give you that
