I've noticed that on invasion that most people fall into one of three groups.

1.) Participates in the objectives and is helpful.
2.) Participates in the objectives and serves as cannon fodder.
3.) Doesn't participate and just uses the rocket launcher, sniper rifle and vehicles to kill the other team.

I mix it up. To me a great Invasion game is doing really good kill-wise and going for the objective at the same time.

I finally hit Colonel early New Years Eve and didn't think I was gonna play last night but after I got back from my friends party I got on just check my commendations and I got an invitation from my friend. I ended up getting a bunch of the challenges that I didn't expect to go after and had a good Halo experience to start 2011

When it comes to Invasion, i fall into the 2nd category. I die a LOT.

I use to be the 2nd all the time but I've switched to the 3rd choice not but I DO participate. I'll pick them off and if there within site and are taking the core or protecting it from my teammates I take them out.

Well I don't mind people doing the third if they utilize the weapons to help. Like a good rocket launcher shot or sniper bullet goes a long way to covering someone who is trying to reach or capture the objective.

Yea i HATE when ppl pick up weapons like that just to pad their killcount. It's really bad in Battlefield: BC2 when you are trying to control a flag, you see that you have 6 teammates with sniper rifles overlooking the base and they ARENT covering your position. Its really annoying.

Every invasion game I play people on either team quit or get booted. I rarely play a full game where people don't quit or get booted. It's really rather annoying. I just wish they would go back to the ranking system to stop people from quitting. That would also stop a-holes from booting people that accidentally betrayed you because if you lose the game, you lose rank and not 100 or so credits and you are going to lose if you are down people.

Same here. Or people quitting because they didn't get the map they wanted or a vehicle at the start of the game. I have seen people sticky grenade a banshee because they didn't get it, shoot people that got a weapon they wanted, etc. The open playlists just bring in noobs of all sorts. Just add rankings and make another section for social playlists and have it to where you can win credits there too. Two sad little playlists for people who are serious about Halo is pretty sad since Halo pretty much put MLG on the map.

Same here. Or people quitting because they didn't get the map they wanted or a vehicle at the start of the game. I can't stand when that kinda crap happens. If you don't get the weapon or map you want sorry better luck next time, that kinda crap is so frustrating.

my mates and i all gave some kid bad rep just now... we've got one less than needed for an Invasion team... and the extra guy quit after we only got to the 2nd target....

We then stopped the other team from getting the first target...

Broke, and it's the only game we all own... so it's cheaper to hang out online than it is to go anywhere atm

I've been playing a lot of Halo since November for the same reason, well I'm just trying to save money and not spend so much of my little check on dumb things so I keep myself busy on Halo. Hopefully next week when school starts I can cut down on Halo or meet a girl to occupy my time/$$
