There are no words to describe how I feel right now. I'm ecstatic and heartbroken all at the same time. The movie was so beautiful. It was an almost flawless finale to a book/film series that has been part of my life since I was 8 years old. I read the first book shortly after it came out and have been hooked ever since. I honestly don't know what life's going to be like without a new HP book/movie to look forward to.

All I can say is this: Thank you JK Rowling

I cried from the moment I saw Voldemort and Snape in the boathouse (I knew [BLACKOUT]his death[/BLACKOUT] had been moved to there) until the epilogue, where I really lost it. It was embarrassing.

I was thrilled that my favorite Ron line from the book made it into the movie: "IF WE DIE SAVING THEM I'LL KILL YOU, HARRY!!" :funny:

I remember when I first read the book I could literally hear Rupert saying that.

At least doing that would make their kids life at the school easier. As I doubt Draco would do what his father did to him & tell his kid to spite the trio's kids after that

Did anyone else notice that they cut the "Why do you live?" "Because I have something worth living for" exchange between Voldemort and Harry?

Oh, you weren't alone! My sister was virtually inconsolable during the Prince's Tale (I wasn't doing much better), the woman in front of us had her face buried in tissues, the texting girl next to us was bawling (and still texting!) and the were audible sniffling throughout the theater.

My parents are seeing it right now. I know my mother won't survive the epilogue.

Not until you just mentioned it. And now I wonder where it went.

Are your parents Harry Potter fans?

I find it rather rare to find older HP fans, but it's great that it attracts such a massive fanbase.

My reaction to [BLACKOUT]his death[/BLACKOUT] while I was reading the book was kind of silly, looking back. I was happy. I literally shouted [BLACKOUT]"Finally that bastard is dead!", though I did feel a twinge of sadness during his final moments.[/BLACKOUT] But then I got to The Prince's Tale and I was like "Oh....****. :csad:" I felt SOOO guilty for hating him all those years.

My parents love Harry Potter. My mom just turned 60, and for her birthday my dad got them tickets to see Daniel Radcliffe on Broadway in How to Succeed. Her review was "Our little Harry Potter is all grown up!"

They've read all the books, and they love the movies. When I was in London with my mom a few years ago, we went to Kings Cross and took pictures at Platform 9-3/4.

My friend's mom is also a huge fan - she's a teacher, and she works afterschool programs. She used the books to help kids learn to read.

The look on Snape's face when Harry was telling him off in the Great Hall was killing me. Snape looked like he wanted to die, and Harry just didn't know the real story until too late.

"...he was the bravest man I ever knew" had me in tears when I read the book, and it was the same when I saw the movie.

I also have to say, Daniel was very convincing as a 37-year-old. I wasn't sure how that was going to work, but it worked beautifully.

can somebody explain a scene to me.. havent read any of the books and they barely went into it in the movie...

the flashback where severous and dumbledoore are talking and severous randomly whips out a patronous charm or w/e and the deer flies out the window and then cuts to a shot of harry seeing it in the forest...
was it to guide harry to the sword (which he put in the lake) if so how'd he know harry was near it.

and also when harry's in heaven or w/e and asks dumbledoore why he has his mothers deer charm thing...

When Snape killed Albus I absolutely hated him and couldn't wait for him to die in the final book. But before Hallows was released there was still numerous people swearing that Snape was somehow still good and JK would think of some elaborate plan to bring him back to light side. I shrugged off such an idea as total nonsense:o

Haha, that is terrific! The power of Potter:woot:

I just heard from my folks. They loved the movie. My mom said it was "brilliant."

Do we really honestly need spoiler tags? This story has been out for 4 years. I don't think we'll need spoiler tags when the Hobbit comes out either.

I saw it on opening night even though I had IMAX tickets booked for a later date as I was sure there was a chance someone would be inconsiderate enough to risk spoiling it for me. I don't even understand why anyone would want to take chances with other people's enjoyment of a film even if the odds are low.

Not until you just mentioned it. And now I wonder where it went.

David Yates said in a recent interview that he decided to remove it because the audience would be asking why Voldemort would get that close to him and not be trying to kill him. He thought Voldemort stopping to talk seemed odd. I liked it myself but I'm sure I wont miss it.

Haha. Someone clearly saw 'The Incredibles' and the speech on villain monologuing. :oldrazz:

That doesn't really make sense though. Voldemort gets plenty close and even starts manhandling Harry. Heck, look how close they are when Harry takes him off the side of the castle.

After rewatching the end credits, I've noticed some very intriguing tidbits. The production thanks the Australia state of New South Wales for help with digital imaging (not surprising since Animal Logic helped with CGI shots and 3D conversion). What's even more interesting is that the state of Louisiana is thanked afterwards -- I thought all the post-production work (and the primary CGI houses) was done in the UK.

Or you could just do what I do, which is don't go into the thread until you've seen the movie. The way I see it, before a movie comes out, spoiler tags should be used, but after it's released it's fair game.

I saw it last night. Bloody hell, they did it. They got it right. They got it SO right. Do I have my nitpicks? Yes, a couple. 99.999% of this film was done so brilliantly, so beautifully. I'm a strange mixture of empty and full right now - despite having basically been through once before, for the last book, in 2007. There are portions of this movie that I expected to be good or great that blew me away with just how satisfying - perfect - they are.
