Because they couldn't be sure if that was a "test" or not. If Gringotts had been warned about impostors, they may have also been warned that the impostors had Bellatrix's wand. So if they presented the wand, that may have been the sign of guilt the Goblins were looking for, and if they went with the "it was stolen" excuse, they may not have been allowed back into the vault. They had no way of knowing which was the right answer.Hey guys, I saw the movie twice today (first time I've every done that for any Potter movie) and one thing still continues to confuse me. Why the hell could Hermione not just pull out Bellatrix's wand to show to the goblin when the four were in Gringotts? Was that a continuity error? Because she uses the wand later in scene to try and find the Horcrux in the vault.
