Grosse Point Blank is one of the best off beat comedies out there, watch that, there is nothing in that movie that says Harvey Dent, but it still pimps cusack as a good actor, and so do many of his movies, Con Air when squares off with Malkovich are some of the best parts of that movie

say anything? high fidelity? good movies, good acting by cusack, again, nothing here screams Dent but he is still a good actor, and would be a good Harvey Dent

as for those who don't know about him as two-face, what has the other candidates of Lucas or Schrieber done to make you think that they can do Two-Face as well? cause i've seen nothing from ether of those two

two things wrong with what you have said

1-you would have to first be a popular actor, and Liev Schriber is not a popular actor, he has an averaged sized fan base because of a similarity to "one version" of the comic book two face

2-i don't have a problem with him saying he dosen't want Cusack for the part I have a problem with him saying, a very accomplished, and talented actor is a terrible actor and a terrible choice Cusack isn't even my first choice, he probobly isn't my second but if he where to be Dent, i would be totally cool with it, because he is a proven actor

3-i say Liev is wrong for the right reason, 85 percent of the people who want him as Dent want him because he looks like TLH Dent, and that is against almost everything i stand for as far as film watching, if people where to actually watch his movies, and since the release of the Omen being that that was the first time many people actually got to see him act, his fan base is declining.

in saying that, you may still wish to have your opinion but i ask you this

you say that you don't think Cusack has what it takes to play Dent, i say fair, i honestly think there might be one role that he has had (being john malkovich) that he has really gone out of that comfort level that he does in most movies that has brought him fame, but has put a ceiling over his head for as high as he can go...

so...the question finally...You don't think cusack has what it takes to play Dent, in what role could you possible get any inkle out of at all that Schrieber has what it takes? his dry Manchurian performence, or his "whitty" scream 2 performence? i don't know but i can hear the argument against cusack

but if that argument is made i can't hear the argument for Schreiber from the same person because he is simply a worse actor, now again that doesn't mean he shouldn't play Dent, but between the two there is no comparison because Cusack has been fantastic in his movies, and Schrieber has been at best okay

John Cusack is a tremendous actor and never puts on a bad performance. I love that guy and I love his work.
HOWEVER, there's no way in hell he should play Harvey Dent. Just wouldn't work. There's others who can fit the bill far better...

that's because he's never seen Schreiber's other work outside of mainstream film (which you gotta admit, most doesnt show his true mettle). Schreiber hasnt gotten the rght film that will make him the next Kevin Spacey, hence blanketed responses from guys like L0ngsh0t.

like I said earlier, John Cusack's strength is his uncomfortableness and timidity (I don't think that's really a word) Both sides of Harvey Dent are intense and extreme. One's a crusader, the other's a murderer. Nowhere does uncomfortable or timid fit into the equation.

Indeed. While he might be able to pull off a macho, grandstanding role like Harvey Dent, I have, so far, seen him in absolutely NOTHING that reminds me of Two Face. Nothing. I'll have to agree with Ronny Shade. John Cusack may have played many different characters, but the majority of his roles are for sensitive, shy, timid men.

Granted, that doesn't mean he CAN'T play Harvey Dent. But as I've seen him in nothing that comes close to what I believe is the character of Two Face, I can't honestly see him in the role at all. Sorry. And as for Shoemaster:
