The Dark Knight Harvey Dent/Two-Face Casting Thread

I like this manip but the kids would be frightened by a make-up and you have to keep to 12A in UK (PG-13)

Children need to be frieghtened. That's the problem with kids today.

I could frankly care less about the little kids who watch the films. Batman is not meant for little kids and the films shouldn't be, either. I understand that a lot of the people who see these films are in the 10 - 13 yeard old age range and probably even a little younger, but you can't just go and please a certain age group. I'd like the next two films to stay as true the comics as possible.

that's mighty selfish of you, but that's besides the point...

...Batman is not directed towards kids, no, but that doesn't mean Batman is directed towards adults only either. You can draw blood and gore in comics because it's not realistic and it's not nauseating. On screen is a different story. When you put blood and gore on screen...even if it's not totally realistic, it's still a harder thing to look at than it is in the comics.

I've always said that too much eye candy (even if it's gore) can detract from what's really important. Someone might be too busy looking at how cool and gory his face looks instead of what he's saying or how he's acting. You have to find a balance....a happy medium. As the saying goes......too much of anything is bad.

Not sure who made it, but this Joaquin Phoenix manip is how I'd like Two-Face to look like on the big screen (though as you all know, I'd prefer to have Leiv Schreiber) in the role. But this how I want him to look.
That looks live a real life Tim Sale Two-Face.

Speaking of which, does anybody think that Sale's Two-Face would work in film? Or would it be too, er,...revealing?

Actually, yes I do.Already Liev Schrieber who is currently the number one actor in some peoples minds for the role, has been very much liked by the fact that he resembles Sales Harvey Dent.Jett from BOF had a comaprison photo of Schrieber and a picture from the "Long Halloween" trade of Dent, saying he's a really good choice and a tremendous actor.Alot of fans were blown away by that.If he could be matched to the side of Dent, then Im certain he can pull of the other side of Two-Face.

Tha manip of Joaquin Phoenix as Two-Face is how Sales vision of Two-Face looks like when he draws him.But just a little over done.It should be something close to that to really bring out the nature of the character, and how it effects him.

It also reminds me of Tim Sale's Two-Face from The Long Halloween.

I would be happy with either Schrieber or Guy Pearce. Either one as Harvey.

I like Pierce for the role too. Phoenix is another GREAT name that no one seems to mention either, which would be great. Liev Schreiber would have to be third on my list.

Brody......I want Brody to be the Joker. He's tall, lanky, got the long awkard looking nose.....I think Brody is the choice to make.

Depp would have to be my second.

thanks for the compliments but i disagree with your opinion...

....this is Batman Begins, not the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. too much eye-candy (even if it's gruesome) can distract from what's really important. i'd rather pay attention to what Harvey ACTS like and SAYS than what's on his face. if you're too busy looking at his face, you might miss important plot points and/or emotions. plus...they still have to keep it pg-13 and this is a good way of making it hideous without pushing it overboard. i sincerely think anything more than what i've manipped would be overkill. especially for a sequel to Batman Begins being directed by Christopher Nolan.

Phoenix, would be a tight lock for Black Mask. I have mentioned him numerous times for Dent, check back on some of my posts.

Schrieber is someone who just shouts out Dent/Two-Face. I mean just look at him, he's shown great intrest in the role and alot of fan support it. He's a great actor (watch "Manchurian Candidate") and you'll see what I mean by that. When I mean he could play him, I mean he could play him. Already he's been compared with Tim Sale's vision of the character and I think thats what alot of people like. Including myself. Personally, I dont think there is anyone better.

Pearce should be in the running for Black Mask aswell. He'd have the perfect elements required to play the psychotic/clever role of Roman Sionis who is Black Mask's counterpart to fued with Bruce Wayne. Seriously, just think about it for one second.
Easy comparison.

Brody would kick ass as Joker, all he'd need to do is do a little weight exercising. Joker is skinny, but not that skinny. After reading that interview awhile back about his intrests and desire to seek out the role in order to portray it, really showed he could do it justice. He's one of the best actors of todays acting genre, all his films have done well expect for that one called "The Jacket." What more can you ask for? Other then the fact that he thought Batman Begins was awesome. If you're looking for creepy in him, then watch "The Village."

Depp would have to be my fourth choice, after Hulme,Bettany, and Brody.

I've said a million times:

Schreiber for Dent

Leo DiCaprio for Black Mask!!!

Rufus Sewell for Harvey Dent
Peter Sarsgaard for Black Mask
