The Dark Knight Harvey Dent/Two-Face Casting Thread

Okay, you keep saying Sewell, and no one acknowledges it. Here's why I don't: I don't know him. I can't gauge him so I've been not saying anything. What's he in?
Dark City
Hamlet
A Knight's Tale

Gyllenhaal could play a college student...or he could also play a 28 year old DA -

I think he looks more mature in that pick that a college student.

Gyllenhaal has range though - after all, he went from psyco Marine to Gay Cowboy. I think he is a find actor and would do great justice to Harvey.

Again, Liev is still the man.
I am on the Gyllenhaal bandwagon...especially since he was a Batman contender of sorts. I always felt Harvey was like a bad Batman, what would have happened to Bruce had he bottled his rage and never pursued his mission.

That would also put him up for Black Mask, who most people are styling as the "Bad Batman"

Isn't Sal Maroni supposed to be old??

Maybe I'm just thing of MotP. Was he portrayed differently in the comics?

when it comes to these films.....not everything has to be an exact replica of the comic. Flass and Loeb looked waaaaay different from the comics than the film for example...

yeah but there's a big difference between a young upstart boss who's barely respected and a guy who's been running things since wwII

true but....heeeeyyyy...look at Tony Soprano....he is not old huh? You mudda bucka! j/k

I don't understand what the obsession is with Liev Schrieber. Is he really thought of as a good actor by all of you?

I get the impression the only reason people like him is because ONE FRIKKEN COMIC ARTIST (Tim Sale?) drew Harvey to resemble him. I'll show you ten comics where Harvey looks nothing like him.

He's not a very good actor. People actually want Cotton Weary from Scream as two face? He has that same stupid whiny mumbly voiced line delivery in every one of his movies including manchurian candidate.

Give me somebody who can act, like GUY FRIKKEN PIERCE! What kind of onscreen duo or trio is going to give you better electric acting performances? Christian Bale, Gary Oldman and LIev Schrieber (gee one of these names doesn't quite live up to the other two) or... Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, and Guy Pierce? Another great recomendation someone made is Kiefer, because of his awesome VOICE. Check out Phone Booth and listen to his voice alone bring a character to life.

This reminds me of when certain fans wanted Billy Zane, an eternally hammy actor who plays the most cliched paper cutout villians in the most cliched way, to play Lex Luthor because he looked like the animated series LUthor.

Liev Schreiber is a pretty decent actor. Watch The Manchurian Candidate if you haven't.

Kiefer is good, but he isn't exactly what springs to mind when I think of Harvey/Two Face. Thats not saying I don't want him for the part, because I'd love it, but I think he's more suited to play The Question or Mr. Freeze.

I don't think of Two Face when I see Guy Peirce either, but he's a good actor as well and has good experience with Nolan.

My favorite suggestions are:
Pheonix
Sewell
Sutherland
Dougray Scott
Tim Daly
(Those last 2 are pretty much Ronny-specific)

and Schreiber's pretty good too

I don't watch the Sopranos, but I think Tony S. is in his late fifties, yes?

Sewell is what 35? 40 at the oldest. And if so, one of those young-ish 40s.

It could work, but I always saw Maroni as an old guy.

I know I keep saying it, but...

Sarsgaard! Peter Sarsgaard would rock the pants off of this role.

Guy Pearce would be awesome.....but rumors have it that he thinks he is above comic films.....thats a bad attitude to have....especially when he can work with an acclaimed director like Nolan again.

The top three for Dent for has been Pearce, Schrieber, and now maybe Gyllenhaal....i

You know who looks like TAS Luthor? Vin Diesel.

Just think about that.

Sarsgaard, in my opinion would be better suited for Black Mask. He's a great actor nonetheless, and would make a great Dent candidate if his name is ever thrown into the mix along with Gyllenhaal, Schreiber, and Law.

Yeah, I could see it.

BTW, since I'm bored, here's my top five:

1) Liev Schreiber

2) Denzel Washington

3) John Cusack

4) Billy Crudup

5) Keifer Sutherland

i think Sewell is in his late 30's early 40's? maybe Sewell would be better as Carmine Falcones son from TLH and DV?

Better than Maroni, anyway.
