duff, i wouldn't give too much merit to something someone said on the imdb boards....outside of arkard, SDM, and a few others; those boards are filled with a bunch of pre-pubesent little trolls with nothing of substance to add to any conversation. im suprised someone took enough time away from talking about their penis or rick roll's to actually say something about the film.

someone once broke it down like this and i think its pretty true.
imdb is the junior varsity team,
SSH is varsity,
and BOF is the mentally handcapped flag football team.

which is curious because we are in the "spoilers" forums...i knbow the non-spoiler pages are pretty boring (and empty) but why come here if you dont want anyhting spoiled?

no i no i wasn't pinning it as fact i was just wondering if anyone had herd anything similar on hear or not to back it up or prove otherwise and like he said this is the SPOILER section

The more I think about it, the more I think
killing Two-Face
would be a massive mistake, given the thematic and story potential in a third film. Think about it. You could have a citywide freak/mob war, and two vigilantes with very, very different tactics.

I very much agree
I dont doubt that it will be fun to watch in this movie and done very well
But still it is a mistake

P3 would be alot better if he was in it, albiet if heath didnt die, BB3 might have been looking alot better right now:( . However one thing thats somewhat worth noting is that we've heard numerous times and Im sure we can see that BB is very different from TDK, and Im sure part 3 will be no exception, thus maybe he has something totally unexpected for P3. Although I dont think it will be able to top this movie nor top what it could have been if face or heath were alive.:(

Am I the only one to actually believe in an awesome third part for Batman no matter Face or Joker are in it...?

I believe it will be awesome but not nearly as awesome as it could be with them in it

For me, the [blackout]deaths[/blackout] of Dent and maybe The Joker cause shifts and changes beyond their roles, if any, in the sequel. Batman becomes a different character, with different preoccupations, if [blackout]they have expired[/blackout] and Gotham cannot be the same kind of mythical dystopia.

The words "Hamlet" and "Prince" spring to mind.

Batman's going to change regardless of the events of this film.

A third film could still be great without certain characters. But let's face it, an ongoing Batman universe is more interesting when it's a universe that continues on with characters we've come to love. It doesn't work so well when some of the more interesting characters it's been built up around aren't anywhere to be found. It begins to feel more like a staged episode, and less like a world.

Exactly. And it'd be interesting, considering Batman would have to "protect" the mob from Two-Face. Adds a great dynamic.

Second movie: he struggles with becoming a monster himself.
Third movie: he struggles with protecting monsters in the name of justice.

Sorry but Nolan IS building his own batworld....it's just that he's doing it through story arcs and themes revolving around Batman hismelf and not by relying on successive appearances of different characters, mainly the villains who will obvsiously change at each particular film !

That's why the critics (IMO) are frequently talking about TDK as a film who will change the way you look at movies and franchises !!!:cwink:

What does that have to do with creating a cohesive, ongoing Batman universe?

Why?

With the amazing performance heath was giving and Joker being Batmans most popular and intresting character, Im sure Nolan didnt have to think twice that he wanted to keep him around for p3.
I believe joker would be in P3 most definately if heath were alive, now obviously alot less likely

So give Nolan the benefit of the doubt that he would have carried on a Villain for two installments if heath were alive.

well that sure helps by keeping Batman at the center of the game surrounded by a constantly returning trio Fox/Gordon/Alfred !!!

The villains change each time to surprize and challenge the Batman in different ways !
