    Happy Thanksgiving, Guest!

The Dark Knight Harvey Dent/Two Face Thread

This movie is about Harvey Dent...so there is no need for third movie about him..plus i dont want to see the same villain again...Batman has a huge gallery of rogues so the third movie will still be interesting...

does anyone know if [BLACKOUT]Two-Face uses his trademark Coin? Like, he flips the coin to make a decision, and if it's the scar face side, he kills someone........[/BLACKOUT]

Maybe this picture will give you an answer.

he gets burned, seriously. You can watch the trailer and it shows him on the ground with gasoline on the ground

From what I can remember reading ...
Basically The Joker kidnaps Dent and Rachel and put them in two warehouses set to explode and Batman has to choose only one to save. There given the addresses of these warehouse and Batman goes to the one Rachel is at. But there's a twist! The Joker switched the addresses so really Batman arrives at the one Dent is at and during the process Dent is scarred. The other warehouse with Rachel blows up.

Anyone help themselves to correct me or fill in any gaps

thanks very much. that's actually quite a clever way to do it if they weren't going to take the traditional approach

I'm not sure if this was mentioned before (I'm sure it has been) but I was watching the WW footage and i noticed that before Dent becomes two-face he uses his right hand (toasting at Waynes party holding the coin) and then after he uses his left hand (holding the gun and drinking the shot)

I wonder if they are going to use that to differentiate between the two

hmmm....interesting.....

I wonder if Two-Face will also have 2 arm-candy girls.......what were there names...Sugar and Spice? :whatever:

Actually Major Spoiler

I don't think that's how it happens because that scene to me looks like where the Joker kidnaps Rachael and Harvey Dent and ties them both to chairs and leaves them both in a some gasoline but the thing is I heard that Dent does not get scared during that scene I heard it happens in a court room.

Um:

In "The Long Halloween" Batman story, which is a book I heard they were basing a lot of this movie on, Harvey Dent gets scarred in a court room by Sal Maroni by acid from an Antacid bottle. But this is Maroni in the picture with him. So, unless the Joker Scars him via gasoline instead, I'm curious as to how Dent would be involved with Maroni. In the books, he Maroni dies after messing up Dent's face.

Just a thought. The movie is going to kick ass regardless.

I do not care at all how Harvey Dent is scarred, whether someone tosses acid on his face, he's set on fire, or some other sort of accident occurs. I don't care about Dent's fate at the end of the movie, whether he lives, dies, or if it's ambiguous. What I do care about is how the character is portrayed, and whether he is an actual presence in the film or just thrown in there to please fanboys (ala Eddie Brock/ Venom). This is a movie on it's own, and I plan to judge it as a movie, not as an adaptation of the comics. I want to see Two-Face done with cinematic justice (much like the Joker), and if an origin change and death is necessary to do that on film, then so be it.

Here's what I don't get. In The Long Halloween Two-Face is a lot like this version, a vigilante doing what needs to be done. But how can the character work in any other way? I mean, if Two-Face is an outright villain how the hell is that supposed to work? If he's like a homicidal lawyer taking justice outside the courtroom I can appreciate that. By using giant coins? Robbing banks?
How does that benefit the character? At all?

Um you lost me where did you hear Two Face will rob a bank? Unless you are talking about Tommy Lee Jones Two Face.

The origin story they did for Two Face in the BTAS is alot like this, too.

In BTAS, Harvey was trying to take down Rupert Thorne's criminal organization. After Harvey becomes scarred because of Thorne, as Two Face he sets out to take down Thorne once and for all.

...and then they had him robbing banks or holding the city hostage for money for no reason, and is even seen playing poker with The Joker, Killer Croc, and Poison Ivy :cwink:. All the more reason why Two-Face doesn't really work as a villain and more as a vigilante.

damn I was about to post this....:o:o:woot::woot:

Seems we'll never see the classic courtroom scene on screen !:csad:

I know a lot of people think this but I am still not convinced that
Dent is scarred when the warehouse explodes.

After he is scarred he goes after Wuertz and Maroni, and possibly others. Why would he does this if they don't have a role in his scarring. Also, Maroni's trial is in the movie, I am not saying where he gets scarred (even though I still think its possible.)

No, I honestly think that they:

scrapped the acid scene in the courtroom and went with the Joker burning his face with gasoline

Still, I wish they didn't have Harvey/Two-Face:

die

The trial is 100% in the movie though.
