Bateman's great. He's the American Martin Freeman.
I've heard some first-hand accounts and they weren't great. And at least he's not a knob like Freeman.
Go on...I've heard some first-hand accounts and they weren't great.
When Netflix revived Arrested Development, news broke that Jeffrey Tambor was a colossal ass towards Jessica Walter - like berating her and stuff. When the cast was confronted about it, Bateman skirted very close to victim shaming.Go on...
Me tooOh, I thought we were talking about Freeman.
A friend of mine worked on a photoshoot (I think it was the whole LoTR and Hobbit casts) and Freeman was apparently just being a stereotypical diva, shouting at assistants/runners. He said James McAvoy is the same, too.Go on...
Freeman's hilarious, and I say that as a giant Tolkien nerd.My initial opinion of him was based on a quote, that I think was probably taken out of context, where he had spoken about people always asking if he "missed" BIlbo, and his reply was "No, because I'm not mentally ill". It just made him come across as being a bit snide.
Joaquin Phoenix also rubbed me the wrong way with his earlier interviews, coming off as being very prickly.
Am I the only one wanting a sort of "unconventional choice" for Dent? Someone who wouldn't be readily obvious i.e Shia LaBeouf, Miles Teller, Lakeith Stanfield, James Franco, Donald Glover etc.
This is the same argument one could have used against casting Christian Bale as Batman.Wouldn't see how much more he could bring to the table after Show Me A Hero and A Most Violent Year other than going through with scaring his face. We've pretty much seen both sides of Harvey Dent with those two roles.
I love the guy though, can't wait for him as Leto in Dune...

People used American Psycho and Equilibrium to point to how he fits the role of Batman. I was around before Bale was cast when he was the fan darling. Besides, who ls to say Issac won't add different elements that he didn't showcase in the two roles you mentioned? Sometimes the straight forward choice is best. Not really, Bale only had half of his American Psycho performance to judge Batman on.
He truly didn’t showcase his comedy or suave aspect of Bruce in his adult career... the only thing You could trace it to was Little Women.
I'd say no to Franco. Kinda over him now, he seems like kind of a hack to me. Probably no to Lakeith too. The rest sound good thoI honestly like all of these.

I'd have zero problem with that. Don't think it's impossible either.Honestly, watching this thread and the Joker one continue to get so many hits, I’d be tickled pink if Matt Reeves ended up bypassing both characters in his films.
Bale is hilarious in American Psycho. That whole movie is a dark comedy. Not really, Bale only had half of his American Psycho performance to judge Batman on.
