guys just because she is pregnant also doesnt mean ANYONE KNOWS ABOUT IT....she coulda got pregnant 3 days before and be oblivious... joker could mistakingly kill her or purposely kill her...but in the end i believe harvey will blame batman....

But yeah, I have a good theory about what causes Harvey Dent to get driven to the edge of sanity, but its spoilerific...

The two barges. Each one containing half of Gotham's evacuees. Joker forces Dent to choose which one to blow up. The monumental pressure of choosing who lives and who dies would cause most people to crack, and it ties into the whole duality idea of Two-Face...

And then something happens and it just rips through 'til he finally becomes Two-Face. But from what I've seen and heard, I have no clue how Nolan's going to play out Dent and his spiraling downward.

some of us have mentioned this in another thread...but rumors are soaring that rachel is killed by the joker... then a pregnancy rumor started going around...so could joker killing rachel, thus killing her and harveys unborn child, be what ultimately sets him off? well of course with the whole acid burned face ....but wouldnt it be interesting to see harvey get scared BEFORE he actually goes crazy and becomes twoface?

it would be very sadistic if joker killed a pregnant person. so i dont know if that will happen, but its possibe...then in movie 3 it could be joker vs twoface vs batman...hey it could work...

it does seem like this is very possible, esp inthe type of dark film were expecting with numerous deaths.

It would be pretty interesting if the acid didn't set off Two-Face but if the Joker killed Rachel thing happened. I'd kind of like to see that. I actually do hope the Joker does kill off Rachel. It'd really make Batman a more darker character, and then adding Two-Face to the mix, very explosive.

The Joker killing off a pregnant women would be very sadistic. But then, I'd like to see that accomplished by the Joker, make this movie very dark, like the title implies.

I don't know, Two-Face has always been a very interesting character for me. I can't wait to see what they do with him.

Seeing a three way fight between Batman, the Joker, and Two-Face, would be nice, but I don't know. I kind of want Two-Face to be killed off in the middle part of the third movie and have the last stand off be between Batman and the Joker.

good stuff. i want twoface to last 3/4 of the 3rd movie, if not more....but definately die at the hands of the joker....

the way im seeing it the 3rd movie could be, i dont wanna say partnership cause thats TOO riddler and 2face in forever...but maybe joker and 2face are against batman (cause 2face thinks its batman who killed rachel and her POSSIBLE unborn child) and then 2face finds out it was joker and starts going against him, joker kills him. then joker vs bats final showdown....carnival anyone?

The biggest threat about two-face in the third movie IMO would be that he has had the most contact and therefore knowledge on Batman, In this movie harvey is working with gorden and Bats to take downt he mob. Through this he will know batmans methods and have inside information that no villian before has ever had on Batman. He also will have a friendly relationship with Bruce. The angle that the thrid film will go will two-face will be a very personal battle with bats. He will know exactly what to do and who to get at to drive bats out. Making harvey/two face the toughest villian to face(pun intended) yet.

I gotta admit the whole psycho Joker killing an unborn baby definitely seems like something this Joker would do but I dunno if it'll end up like this in the film. It's fun to speculate though eh?

if we all remember the No Man's Land storyline Joker kidnaps all these children and threatens to kill them all by blowing them up. He's not against killing children.

A lot of it had to do with another cliche love interest. That and she was made up for the movie and a lot of fans would have preferred someone from the comics instead.

FigmanJ is totally correct about why people hate her. Her addition to the film mythos was stupid and pointless, regardless of how well-written her character is or isn't. You could've used someone from the comics, or just left out the whole damn love interest angle all together, especially when so many Batman comics make no mention of such a thing. Which is why i'm hoping Joker guts her like a Jokerfish.


On the other hand, Joker killing a pregnant woman (whether or not he'd actually do that...I think he would) wouldn't go over well with me or a lot of other people. There are many ways to show the sinister and evil nature of the Joker without getting into grotesque displays like this. As much as I hate Rachel Dawes (and boy do I hate her), killing her with child will never happen in a PG-13 film, especially a WB film.


Not that any of this matters, because Rachel IS NOT ****ING PREGNANT!!!!!!!!

Actually we will get at least one appearance from the full Two Face before the end of the film. The Wizard World footage confirms it.

They also probably felt they had too much testosterone in the movie. Rachel was the only main female character who did anything in BB, aside from Martha Wayne.

Of course, they could have used Selina Kyle but they did need to have a lawyer character in there, so...yeah.

I wouldn't have minded a male-only main cast though, but I bet it would have bothered some people.

Just a theory, but the fact that she looks pregnant in those few shots could in fact be because Gyllenhaal was actually pregnant in real life and gave birth shortly before the film started shooting...birth weight she hadn't lost yet.
