Hawaii Five-O - Part 2

I thought Kono has been rumoured to be leaving every season.

Well, so much for Catherine's work with her ex-boyfriend causing season-long tension. Nice to see Joe White coming back to help Steve work the case a bit and also find Doris. Also, looks more and more like the Kono/Adam storyline could see some resolution in the coming weeks. Still feel the team will help somehow but Adam is ultimately going to sacrifice himself to save Kono.

Man...so much for a potential love triangle storyline.

That was a semi decent buildup for not much.

I wonder if the actor that played Billy got a better offer and that's why he was abruptly killed off after the set up of the potential love triangle? Same way Autumn Reeser was brought back in last seasons finale just to leave again in her first appearance this season.

His death was tragic, he fought in and survived Afghanistan yet died by getting caught in the cross due to some lovesick moron, a sleazebag hubby and a hooker. :(

I liked how the ep put Cat center stage, but Danno's scenes seemed so random.

It was good to see Joe pop up (minus the singing) and I'm more curious about what he knows regarding McGarrett's dads death than what he found out about Dorris.

I think the team will be heading to Hong Kong soon to try and help Kono save Adam, but not next week as it's the shows traditional Halloween episode. :D

And just think, I actually didn't watch the latest episode because I found the triangle boring as heck... Maybe I'll watch it now....

If he had been shot in the face, he could've had plastic surgery and ended up looking like David Hasslehoff and ended up with a cool 82 Pontiac Tran Am. After all, he does hold himself out to be Michael Knight. :funny:

He's has a recurring part on the ABC Family show Ravenswood. Autumn Reeser left because she was pregnant.

repeats of Hawaii Five-O come on Thursdays at 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm on tnt

We didn't see him die..... He's not actually dead and will return later on in the season.... Or he's in the shower.

That character was a complete waste and the stupid triangle crap was just that... Crap. What was the point of Billy?

Terry O'Quinn... In Hawaii... With Numbers....

So anyone think Catherine will take over this security business or will she join 5-0 now? What does she plan to do?

Now that's money! He could compare car status with McGarrett! :D

Ah I see, so maybe she could come back!

I enjoyed the Halloween ep, nice riff on the old mad scientist story. I also like Catherine's new direction, only McGarrett would date a woman who's idea of getting a project is surveilling the Yakuza and just nod in approval when she tells him. :funny:

Next weeks ep looks fun. :D

The thing I really like this season is there's been connective tissue to past shows/ongoing storylines every episode, unlike last season where they'd go weeks without mentioning any of their carryover stories.

That has been the key to the shows success in my eyes. It's cool to have a bunch of standalone stories but there has to be a overall arc that carries throughout the season.

Season 3 had one but seemingly didn't know what to do with it. Which is why it was so easy for me to tune out.

This season is much improved.

I guessed that the woman transcribing those reports was behind the murder of the undercover cop as soon as I saw her.

Also I thought that Catherine would join 5-0 and become part of the team, otherwise she doesn't really have much to do. Is she going to be replacing Grace Park? Will Kono actually come back or is she leaving permanently?

Good brutal fight with her and the other guy in the toilet at the start of the show. Was it a men's or women's toilet? I forget if there were any urinals. I don't recall seeing any. Maybe it was a women's toilet.

It was vague enough to not know for sure but I think it was a women's toilet. And that was a good fight scene. I thought they might make her an official part of the team but not just yet before now. And the mole was obvious to me too. It was too obviously going to be pointing at the handler and when the transcriber showed up, detailing how she knew everything (from being the transcriber), it just gave it all away.

It didn't help that they focused on the picture frame on her desk.

Well I knew it was the transcriber before even seeing any picture frame etc. As soon as she appeared in the scene and I saw her face I knew it was her. She didn't even have to mention her job description but just appear. Most of the actual criminals are usually introduced into these shows at around that mark and are often someone in the background who has a small role. I had noticed that pattern from over 10 years of watching CSI.

CSI is but the tip of the procedural ice-berg. All these shows do that.

The tricky part of course is figuring out the motive. Sometimes it's not apparent why someone killed someone else even if you can figure out who it was.

Sometimes finding the motive is more interesting than who the actual killer is.

To me that's always more interesting. We already know someone is dead. That's no mystery. Someone killed them, again, not a mystery. The real mystery is why they did it.

It's fun to guess. Usually it's money, love, or revenge but sometimes they go and find a truly unusual reason to kill someone.

Well it's also interesting to watch the cops catch them or explain how they did it. Columbo and Law & Order: Criminal Intent had that format. You usually knew from the start in Columbo who did it and why they did it. Less so with Criminal Intent, but it was still fun to watch Dt Goren figure it out and then trap them.

I liked this weeks mystery even though like most I guessed who the likely leak was. The fight scene at the start was badass! I wonder how much of it Michelle Borth did.

Btw was that Xzibit as the gangster guy?

It was but he was credited by his real name, Alvin Joiner, which made me question if it was him since he's been credited as Xzibit in other acting jobs.
