HBO's Game of Thrones - - Part 11

Victarion Greyjoy post-ADWD would probably give Gregor (and Drogo) a run for their money.

Gwendoline Christie then turns around, laughs maniacally in it's face and the dragon panic-****s all over the hillside and flies off into the distance.

I got the distinct impression she wants to wear Nikolaj's face.

That is why Jaime lost his hand. Jaime is renowned for his swordplay and his looks. The loss of his hand is the start of his reevaluation of his life.

One of the best warriors in the books is Mance. Sadly, I don't see that coming to be on the show.
Oh I don't want him to not have lost his hand, just have kept it a bit longer so he could have a couple more classic fights after the Ned Stark one.

The funny thing about the Ned fight. It never happens in the book. A great change imo. One of my favorite scenes.

When you've got Sean Bean in anything remotely action oriented... You use the man!

Yeah, it was a nice little set up for Jaime's inner qualities.

I think it would be like Bron's fight against the knight at the Eerie.

Drogo would be faster with no armor. The mountain would be slow and cumbersome in his armor. Just a brute. Even if he did get a hit in I think Drogo is the type to kill hinself to kill his opponent. The Mountain is no doubt stronger tho. That could help him, but I still think Drogo's speed and ferocity gives him the edge. He'd just tire the Mountain out.
How much bigger is the Mountain supposed to be than Khal Drogo?

Doesn't matter. He couldn't hurt the Mountain. Not with his style or weaponry. Think the scene with Jorah in the first season, when he fights in his full plate.

The Mountain that Rides is a completely different animal in comparison.

The Mountain has no honor. :cwink:

I think you are underestimating the force Gregor Clegane is. He is literally capable of killing a man with one punch.
Well it has to be an adjusted fight to take account of impossible advantages like a complete suit of armour that can't be breached by the other guy's weapon. Having the best equipment and winning on that basis doesn't make a better fighter. I mean I can beat Drogo & the Mountain from inside a tank, especially if some military guy who knows what they're doing is controlling the tank. :yay:

Either we have both guys wearing no armour or we give Drogo an upgraded version of his weapon that can eventually do something against the Mountain's armour. Or we force Drogo into a full suit of armour..would love to see his face...Not The Dothraki Way! :cmad:

Drogo couldn't even fight an infection. :funny:

The Mountain beats poison to go Frankenstein's monster.
:wow:

Those are a lot of words to make up for the fact that The Mountain would whoop dat ass. :o

Speaking of Vicky's thing, do you suppose Moquorro could help out Theon?

Also, one of the Dothraki tried fighting Ser Jorah and didn't do that great. Armor and skill beats them. Now, Westeros vs something large and exotic, like say elephants, would be interesting.

I'm certain Victarion could take him.
I don't disagree with you. But Victarion is a far greater warrior then Drogo.

If Arthur Dayne was alive, he'd smoke everyone. Same thing with a young Robert. He was a beast.

I was reading a comprehensive list of all the changes, all the little extra scenes and bits of dialogue the TV series has made to the books (only got to somewhere past the beginning of season 2) and there are lot of really great improvements. I'm reading the books at the moment and I kind of want to edit some bits of dialogue which have been improved. Shows someone is reading these with an eagle eye for detail and really looking to improve on it as they convert it to TV rather than just rely solely on the greatness of the source material. That kind of thing should be enough to put the TV show roughly on par with the books when you consider the great stuff in the books that won't be able to get translated across.

The show will never be on the level of the books until they learn how to write Jon again imo. It is almost criminal what they did to Jon after the first season.

I'm hoping that D&D want to surprise the casual viewers with Stannis.

What with him turning hero at the Wall, and kicking ass and making alliances throughout the North. Then marching against the Bolton-Frey alliance. That's mostly why I like him.

Considering how they speak about him, I doubt it.

Whilst taking a piss
As long as there are no nets around. Damn nets. :cmad:

I don't think we'll ever get any of the personal, quite moments where he reflects on his brothers, Ned Stark, or his parents death (WHAT THE HELL D&D) but I think they might make him more sympathetic. Not to the extent of the book version, but I suspect his relationship with Shireen and Davos will grow.

I was pretty pissed off when they made Jaime a Kinslayer, but they pulled his redemption off.

D&D said Renly would be a better king. I don't think they "get" Stannis at all.

I just hope we get more Bryan Cogman stuff with Stan. His episode was the one that gave him the best portrayal in season 3 IMO

Was that the one with his scene with Shireen? Because I thought that was pitch perfect.
