HBO's Game of Thrones - - Part 11

Yeah the episode where Stannis visits Shireen and Selyse.

Plus Cogman's got more episodes this season, so hopefully that gives us some more balance. The inclusion of the Florent plot might give us more Stannis/Shireen.

I don't disagree with you. But Victarion is a far greater warrior then Drogo.

If Arthur Dayne was alive, he'd smoke everyone. Same thing with a young Robert. He was a beast.

well at least he kind of has the Tully/Stark hair going, i do wish i was the one to cut his lip though

The show will never be on the level of the books until they learn how to write Jon again imo. It is almost criminal what they did to Jon after the first season.
Is it possible to explain what they've mucked up with Jon on the TV show without spoiling the book events?

I am fully confident they will fix it all this season.

STANNIS! STANNIS! STANNIS!

The second half of Jon's arc in ACoK was more cinematic in the books IMO. It was like the Grey, with Jon, Qorin Halfhand and co struggling to survive the elements, constantly getting hunted by Wildlings, getting picked off slowly. It was tense stuff.

I liked his stuff in Season 1, and they more or less got the love story right in season 3. Season 4 should definitely be the high point though.

We need a lot from Mance, that's a necessity.

Jon's ACoK and first half of ASoS material is full of badass people, doing badass things, with this insanely hot red head making life as difficult as possible for him. All the while Jon is forged. Turned from a boy into a man.

If you read Jon's time with the Halfhand and compare it to the show version, it is a horrible translation imo. But now that they are back on the right side of the Wall, maybe they will bring it back on track.

I need to hear Ygritte singing the Last of Giants. That stuff was heartbreaking :(

It should have happened while she was with Jon. A quiet, beautiful moment, that wouldn't have been so obvious with the flirting.

Yeah, Mance's backstory was so simple and so beautiful, you can't help but respect the guy.

Yeah, really that's my biggest grievance with Jon's season 3 stuff, we didn't get much of those quiet moments between them.

Yep. I'm looking forward to his stuff in S5; knowing his background makes it better. Much better.
Hinds and his portrayal are so far from book Mance, I wonder how they are going to work it.

Are you being coy because they aren't suppose to be out?

I can link you to the Theon and Arrianne chapters, as he posted them on his not-a-Blog, the others I'm hesitant to post because I'm not sure if I'm allowed to.

Can't wait for Stannis story to progress
and I would love to see the other 2 dragons instead of the same one
all the time

The others are Tyrion, Victarion, and the Barristan preview from the ADWD paperback?

Can't wait to be caught up in the books.

I couldn't be more happy with the casting and writing of Jaime on the show. It has been absolutely phenomenal. They have absolutely nailed this aspect of the adaptation.

I know this is going to sound obvious, but I couldn't help but restate to myself just how perfect Coster-Waldau is for Jaime the first time I read the first scene where he's described in A Game of Thrones. I'm saying this as a guy who watched the TV series before starting to read the books.
