If you can, you should hold off reading the last 400 pages of Storm of Swords until after watching season 4. Some of the best events of the series take place in those pages. It'd be a shame to ruin those surprises.

About the ages, didn't time pass faster in the tv show than in the books? In the books, after 5 only around a year and a half has passed, but i heard that in the tv show in a least a year or two have already passed too.

Sansa has had only one name day on the show. On her wedding to Tyrion she is still the same age she was at the start of season 2. So no more then 18 months or so have passed on the show.

AGoT starts in the year 298 AL. At the same point of the books that the show is now, it is year 300 AL. So no, the same time.

I know the time in the books, but i don't think that they've stated what year it was in the show yet.

That doesn't matter. Sansa has had only one birthday (name day) on the show. Even if the first episode took place the day after her name day, it still hasn't been two years on the show, because she is still 14.

So yes, same basic timetable.

Telling how much time has passed on the show has actually been rather easy.

- In the first episode, "Winter is Coming", Cersei ask Sansa her age. Sansa says she is 13.

- In the eight episode of the third season, "Second Sons", Tyrion ask Sansa her age. She says she is 14.

Thus two full years have not passed on the show yet.

In the books, at this point of the series, it has gone from 298AL-300AL. That is about two years, the same as the show.

They've kinda changed Ramsay's age around a bit. In the books Roose mentions that Ramsay was conceived during the time of Rickard Stark's rule over the North, which would probably put him in his 30s, quite a bit older than Robb and Theon.

I see, on another note, they've been saying that Winter is coming since the begining of the show, is it still coming or is it already Winter? And at this pace how long will it trully last? The name of one of the upcoming books is [BLACKOUT]A dream of Spring, does that mean that this so much hyped Winter is only going to last a few months, or an year at most? [/BLACKOUT]

imo, Winter will arrive when the Others (White Walkers) cross the Wall and cover all of Westeros in winter. Only then will the Starks, lead by the half wolf, half dragon, save the Westeros.

Also in Westeros, Winter is always coming. That is the point of the saying really.

Not really. He is probably in his mid to late 20s.

Well in any case they've aged him down, into the handsome Iwan Rheon.

Not really. Iwan Rheon is 28. So he is well within the age range I suggested.

28? He doesn't look it, which is my point. He seems more like Theon and Robb's contemporary when in the books he's older than both of them by at least 10 years. Comparatively, Tv Roose actually looks his character's age whereas book Roose has a weird youthfulness about his face.

Also Tyrion in the books is like 28 so that's quite an age up lol

Madden and Allen are both 27, playing teenagers. That is why they look like contemporaries.

Well actually Allen is playing a 21 year old, unless they aged him up.
