HBO's Game of Thrones - - - Part 12

I know you didnt ask me but I would say the back half of book 3 and some scenes from book 5, primarily dany, Bran and Jon, but really it seems that a ton of book 3 is going to be stretched out a great deal, I have a feeling Tyrions story arc is going to be massively larger than even what it was in the books as to save some of the juicer bits of the third book and they will be adding quite a bit to Jons story as well to stretch this season out. I'd also wager that Briennes entire story will be cut in half but then paced at the speed of a snail so that we can have her do stuff in Season 5 as well. I also wouldn't be suprised if Jaime's story gets accelerated so as to have him play a much bigger role going into Season 4.

The problem is Book 4 is so not focused on anything really that we have had in the show so far that finding a way to adapt certain things will be very hard while keeping your average viewer interested with the show due to the lack of main character appearances. I do think though that with the retooling i mentioned above you can still have the main characters show up but have the primary Dorne story show up and have it not seem such a deprature from previous seasons. Plus there is so much cersei in book for that most main characters will show up in some fashion.

Just my thoughts.
Thanks. I was trying to judge how much will be left of books 3, 4 & 5 after season 4 is finished. Would like to know how the books might translate to future seasons also (would be all guesswork obviously). But what you said helps.

Excellent! Can't wait.

Going to be a good night with Walking Dead, GoT, and the finale to the amazing True Detective

I'm both excited yet sad that True Detective is ending. Quite possibly my favorite show of all time. Depending on how it ends I suppose but even then it's up there.

Only the season is ending, there will be more next year

The show is more or less over for me personally. McConaughey and Woody H along with director Fukanaga aren't coming back and they're following an anthology format. This particular series/story arc is done though.

I've been wondering the same.

i gotta say, Meereen looks absolutely splendid in the trailer.

i totally imagined something less splendorous (is that a word?)

When there's stuff to discuss, we discuss it. When someone wants to talk about the books, we really get into that. Hell, there's pages of discuss dedicated to Dany popularity and worth as a human being, Stannis' adaption on the show, plotlines in the future books. When a new trailer or tv spot comes out, we're drooling over it like everyone else.

But when there's been weeks of nothing overly relative or meaningful to discuss then the Gifs add a bit of life to the place. When the promotion and hype kicks into gear and when the show itself airs obviously the gifs are gonna die down, because there'll be something to actually discuss.

Who are the Brave Companions? Did I miss them in Season 3? Or was that another name for the BWB? So confused!

That's the name I've given Locke's men. His book character, named Vargo Hoat, led a band called the Brave Companions. They were also referred to as "Bloody Mummers" and were a colorful cast:

Fat Zollo: a Dothraki

Qyburn: a maester whose chain was taken.

Septon Utt: a child-killing priest of the Seven.

Shagwell: a psychotic jester

The show didn't really distinguish any of them aside from Qyburn.

Rorge and Biter join their ranks at some point, and appear in A Feast for Crows.

Bought Game of Thrones earlier. I guess I'm a slow reader, been reading for around 3 hours and only about 70 pages in. I can't seem to out it down.
