McAdams is going to be the best, coolest part of this season... I hope it spins her off into more weird things like this and less comedies/romantic films.

Season 2 Synopsis

Colin Farrell (Golden Globe winner for “In Bruges”) plays Ray Velcoro, a troubled detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him. Vince Vaughn (“Wedding Crashers”) portrays Frank Semyon, a criminal and entrepreneur in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner. Rachel McAdams (“Midnight in Paris”) plays Ani Bezzerides, a sheriff’s detective whose uncompromising ethics put her at odds with others and the system she serves. Taylor Kitsch (HBO’s “The Normal Heart”) portrays Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and a highway patrol motorcycle officer, running from a difficult past and the sudden glare of a scandal that never happened.

Episode #9 (season 2, episode 1): “The Western Book of the Dead”

Written by Nic Pizzolatto; directed by Justin Lin.

The disappearance of a city manager disrupts a lucrative land scheme and ignites an investigation involving three police officers and a career criminal who is moving into legitimate business.

Episode #10 (season 2, episode 2): “Night Finds You”

Written by Nic Pizzolatto; directed by Justin Lin.

Is Justin Lin directing every episode?

I don't think so.

Hmm... I was hoping it wasn't going to be failed impersonation of S1.

Well, hopefully I like it. The cinematography and McAdams has me still excited.

Still looks like Fargo S2 has more potential out of these two rookie shows, after their great first seasons.

I want it to be different from Season 1. Anyone expecting it to be the same is missing the point of an anthology series.

EW gave it a 'B' grade and they also said that for an anthology series, this season really isn't all that different from the first.

I really don't care, though, as I'm sure I'll still love this immensely.

I'm sure the story will be strong and the characters will be fascinating. A lot depends on the performances of the actors involved. Judging by the trailers I think Kitsch might steal the show but I'm hoping for a classic amazing Vaughn performance that we used to see when he first started acting.

The only main concern I have is the rotating directors. I want the season to flow visually like season 2, not be several different visions that end up becoming distracting.

It'll be like every show with multiple directors. They'll follow the style set by Justin Lin and what Pizzolatto wants from them.

Yeah, but the total cohesion and feel of Season 1 was one of the best aspects of it. Having the same director helm the entire season made it feel like one, long movie. Episode directors mimicking the style of one director isn't quite the same, although I'm sure having the same cinematographer all season (which I hope this one had) would help make things feel more cohesive.

Yeah but one of the unique things about Season 1 was how the same guy directed every episode so it was like a really long movie as opposed to 8 separate mini-movies. It created a whole different feel than any other show.

Guess this will teach me to re-load every once and a while. Hahaha
