Where exactly was he hating in the particular post you quoted, though? Looks to me like a simple observation. A bit too many trigger-happy reactions in this thread.
Season 1 was pretty much the perfect storm, from start to finish. I mean, it probably helped that I binge watched it, but I thought it was brilliant throughout. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who found the finale thoroughly satisfying, if not totally what I expected.
I know some people were also disappointed because the Yellow King wasn't an actual character, but I thought it was more interesting that it was more like a concept and deity represented by that creepy-ass shrine in Carcossa. Ties into the whole idea of the cult possibly continuing despite Rust and Marty having killed Childress - with the Yellow King and Carcossa being more of a symbol and a concept, than an actual character, it's much more difficult to take them out than simply killing the one guy. But that was the beauty of Season 1, it was Rust and Marty's personal stories, so for them to get their guy at the end was a satisfying conclusion to their overall arcs.
I've enjoyed the differences that this season has brought, though. With it featuring four leads instead of just two, it's not seemed as personal as S1, but that has in turn, now that I think of it, tied into the season itself not being about one killer, but about the 'sprawl' of corruption at the highest levels which Doctor Jones was mentioning a page ago, which also ties into S1, despite this being an anthology series. As others have mentioned, not as brilliant as S1, but still pretty damn good. Hope the finale delivers as well.
