The opposite is true quite a bit too. Anne Rice for example writes great dialouge, but her descriptions and narration are often always long winded, repetetive, and boring.

Must be why I never finished any of her books.

I'm glad Christopher Nolan wrote that. I've been waiting for someone to say something more meaningful about Heath, and I sure don't get it on the FOX news channel. Thanks for reposting, otherwise I wouldn't have seen it. :yay:

Well to look at the bright side of this very dark tragedy, we discovered Daniel Day Lewis is like the best person alive.

you shoulda known that long ago! DDL is seriously one of the greatest and under rated actors of our time.

DDL would be an awesome Joker
i was thinking the same thing coming into this thread. if they are in fact gonna be using the joker in the third film, they should cast DDL. some people might b!tc# about his age, but he's quite young looking for his age plus you wouldnt even be able to tell under all the joker make up....and, not to meantion, he's an even more talented actor than heath.

DDL would have been an awesome rahs
i actually made a manip of that back in the BB casting days.

Yes,
Some may disagree due to his age and a strong notion that he probably wouldn't consider it...But he'd be my first and only choice if they use the Joker in the third film. Heath laid such a stong foundation judging from the trailer and prologue. I truly believe DDL can handle building upon that foundation.

Some have suggested James Franco, Jake Gyllenhaal, and even Joseph Gordon-Levitt(resembles heath) but in all fairness, I believe their interpretations of the Joker wouldn't be as powerful.

As I've stated in the Sequels board....

Very true!
And I agree. He probably wouldn't consider it. On my part its just wishful thinking. Overall, it's rooted in my opinion that DDL's characters have all been done so well. I see his performances and no where is there a trace of the man. And I just buy it for some reason.

Similarly, Heath is virtually lost in the character and thanks to his performance, you experience nothing but the Joker. From what we can tell so far, its perfect; the mannerisms, gestures, variety and texture in the vocal delivery, everything. Judging from the trailer and prologue, without a doubt his performance is redefining.

In my opinion, DDL can riff off of the foundation Heath laid down. You can tell, its very specific. If the Joker is included in the third installment, I just want to experience the character. I truly believe DDL can dissappear into the role just as equally. So much so that you're not thinking that the Joker has been recast. On screen it's just the Joker.

"Charisma as Natural as Gravity"
That is Such a beautiful way to Describe Heath

What a class act

I made this in about 5 mins.

I just wanted to see...

Honestly if he was asked I dont think it is out of the realm of possibility. Immitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Imagine the potential..the possibilities.

I don't like all this re-casting banter this early. Can we please just wait until the movie at least. It just hits a chord or something with me. Sorry for the whine I don't normally voice my grievances on here.

As others have already said, Chris Nolan has such a way with words - this is by far the most eloquent piece so far. It makes you both laugh and cry - simply beautiful.

I can't even imagine the strength it takes for him (and all others on the team) to continue work on TDK right now. It's certainly going to take a while before they can "go back to normal". But with all the sadness, it's great that he emphasises the good things, too - "I can't help but smile". Ditto.

"Those nights on the streets of Chicago were filled with stunts. These can be boring times for an actor, but Heath was fascinated, eagerly accepting our invitation to ride in the camera car as we chased vehicles through movie traffic—not just for the thrill ride, but to be a part of it. Of everything. He'd brought his laptop along in the car, and we had a high-speed screening of two of his works-in-progress: short films he'd made that were exciting and haunting. Their exuberance made me feel jaded and leaden. I've never felt as old as I did watching Heath explore his talents. That night I made him an offer—knowing he wouldn't take me up on it—that he should feel free to come by the set when he had a night off so he could see what we were up to."

Wonder what sort of short movies they were.

DDL as joker?? no but if he was a bit younger he would have killed the Bruce Wayne role imo i mean REALLY killed it that guy can act.

I agree with you to be honest.

I personally don't like brad pitt but didn't he just donate 20 million dollars to katrina relief. Now I know what ddl said was nice but it's not like he really did anything and heath is just one guy a lot more people suffered in new orleans.

Yes a lot of people died and America basically didnt care and where too scared to go in with initial relief its AMERICA!! i cant beleive that happend there the reports of roving bands of rapists and murderers awoke every stereotype in white americas brain they where all to ready to beleive everything the media told them everything you need to know about what the media thought of the victims is put in one word for me:refugees the media kept saying that word over and over like they where refugees from a disaster in a third world country not citizens of the most wealthy, dominant country ever on the planet. it took one victim to say "Im not a refugee im an American" for all those idiots to backtrack ultra fast and your all welled up over a movie star who (sadly) died before hiis time? i bet you didnt shed a tear for the Katrina victims.:cmad:

Some celebritys at least tried earned my respect by going down there when others (thats you Bush) where to scared Sean Penn earned my respect for that at least.

Sorry if im ranting and this probably isnt the place but it gets my goat sometimes i cant tell you how to feel emotionally but your own countrymen in Katrina and iraq are just as deseving (more so imo) of a cry or some emotional responce as ledgers sad death is.

I know I'm late on this, but Nolan's tribute was incredibly touching. I really felt for him reading it, especially the "I miss him terribly" bit. What a class act

It's a Batman thread. Heath Ledger is in the next Batman movie. He died at the age of 28. A lot of people are affected by this, and want to express it.
Are you so narrow-minded that you can't conceive that people can be sad about this, and sad about other things? How presumptive of you to charge that people are just grieving about this, and don't care about anything else. Where are the threads about Iraq, Darfur etc that you made? You have offered nothing constructive since Heath;s death except to harangue people who are affected, and chastise them for not caring about other tragedies, without any proof that they do or don't. Truly, you sicken me.

As well as spreading rumors that it was definitely a drug-related death despite the fact that no one knows and the police are leaning towards "natural causes." He's just a Burton/Nicholson fan that's pissed off because people like what they've seen of Ledger and Nolan's work more than the other two and so he bashed anyone for mourning Ledger as well as appreciating his work more than Nicholson's. Jealousy is the best way to describe it.
