No thanks.Grand Budapest Hotel, dude.

I don't think Ralph Fiennes has that warmth for Alfred. He's a good actor, but even in that King's Man trailer he seems a bit cold and detached (which could be good for that character.)
If Pierce Brosnan really is a contender then he would be an interesting take. Colin Firth was a good suggestion. I also like Sean Bean.

Not all actors can do everything. That's why people have preferences. I don't get genuine warmth from him for the role of Alfred no matter how much he would fake it.He's an actor. He can play something with more warmth.
I think there are others who are more naturally suited to the role and would bring something more to it. I just don't like him for the role.Fiennes isn't your typical actor that just plays himself though. He's like Pattinson in the sense that he has a lot of range. He can pull it off.
Fiennes has already played (voiced) a great Alfred??!
The man is one of the most acclaimed Shakespearean actors of his generation. There's a big difference between live action and a LEGO.
Oh, I'm sorry I thought we were talking about best actor in a Lego. The man is one of the most acclaimed Shakespearean actors of his generation.
Thank you. It's settled then.I kinda get Willi Berg's point. He always seems a bit distant in his live action roles. I guess I'm ok with him because of his work in Lego Batman but he's not my fav either.
I would prefer David Niven or James Mason. How about that delightful Rex Harrison?!We’re not talking about Paul Walker here. Fiennes is up there with John Gielgud and Peter O’Toole.
Wow he's probably too good to play merely a butler. He should play the Batsignal.Fiennes is David Niven reincarnated in Grand Budapest
I'm sure he can. I just don't want to see it.To say that Fiennes can't play a fatherly butler is just a weird opinion to have, and incorrect.
