I also do not want to see an "evil" Superman fight the league for a time and have to be broken out of said trance by Lois. That would be SO lame. He just needs to come back and be the hero we all need and want to see.

I'm not sure I want to see that either, but it depends on the context. It wasn't so lame when it happened on Timm's Superman: The Animated Series, right?

Agreed, plus they did it in a two part episod so 40 minute in total for which 20 of Superman was mind controlled.

I loved Legacy but the reason why it worked was because Timm and co did a hell of a job establishing superman over 50 episodes so Legacy was a bitter sweet ending to superman's earlier and brighter journey.
Now Cavill's superman journey has been nothing but s**t thus far where he spent most of his life hiding in MOS only to be forced to reveal himself inorder to save the planet, which resulted in the destruction of a major city and a psycho Bruce wayne gunning for him. Add lex's frame up jobs, the public crapping on him for anything and everything and his eventual death and I'd say that it's time that Superman gets a semblance of a break and alittle well earned glory.

Sex without consent is rape. I don't think I'd congratulate Superman or the producers of a children's cartoon series for implying rape. Be honest, if the genders were reversed, the implications would be horrifying.
