Yet another very Cav-El'esque variant cover from Clay Mann. I think this one's my favourite so far:

Again you're using wording to change what happened. Darkseid made Superman into his champion. He said go beat up those guys for me. He did so willingly. After he beat up those guys Darkseid congratulates him and offers him the company of three women. He could have said nah, I'm good, which he basically does, and it would have ended in the same result either way.
That isn't rape.
If Superman accepted responsibility for his actions in those episodes in JLU I'd say it's a fair stance. Brainwashed or not he wasn't being controlled. He was asked to conquer those people. He wasn't coerced. Darksied didn't put a kryptonite gun to his head and make him. Now the brainwashimg does mitigate his culpability, but he still did all those things willingly. And if he had intercourse with Lashina or the other Furies that would have been done willingly as well.
If you don't understand that manipulation doesn't equate to rape then I don't know what to tell you. People lie to people every second of every day to have sex with other people. It doesn't make them rapists. It makes them liars.
He wasn't in his right mind, so his agency, his reason, and his consent are called into question. It blurs the line of what is acceptable and, as such, I could never find those encounters amusing or enjoyable. I never will, so I guess we're at an impasse. Agree to disagree?
Sex without consent is rape. I don't think I'd congratulate Superman or the producers of a children's cartoon series for implying rape. Be honest, if the genders were reversed, the implications would be horrifying.
No you STOP right now, I'm sick and tired of your rubbish.
I will say the following and then I will get back to the topic at hand:
1. The producers did not imply rape, you just have a twisted way of looking at things.
2. I personally never thought of it as rape until YOU implied it.
3. STOP going off topic with your ridicules rants about sexism and now rape.
4. Like I told you before, you don't like any comment I make then ignore it or better yet put me on ignore because after this post you'll be the first and only person on my ignore list.
Now back to the topic, I love the Cavill-esc looking superman on the action covers of late and this begs the question; Does Cavill look like Superman or does Superman look like Cavill?

You both need to drop it already, too many people have tried to veer this thread back on topic.

A little bit of both, I'd say. I actually like his visage for Superman more than Reeve because Reeve's thin nose annoys me to no end and really doesn't feel like it fits the man's man vibe of the character.
I think they both look like superman, with Reeve resembling the bronze age version while Cavill resembling the Byrne, Lee contemporary versions.
Overall though I think Cavill gets the edge thanks to MOS's beautiful looking suit while Reeve's suit was comparatively and understandably simple considering the time.
No you STOP right now, I'm sick and tired of your rubbish.
Muscles aren't the reason why Superman is so strong, but absolutely, it's way more satisfying to see him ripped. As Patty Jenkins has said:Reeve and Cavill are the only two that I completely believe physically as Superman.

"I, as a woman, want Wonder Woman to be hot as hell, fight badass, and look great at the same timethe same way men want Superman to have huge pecs and an impractically big body. That makes them feel like the hero they want to be."
damn.......
