I remember in the Superman casting threads here from back in the day Hammer having more supporters to be cast as Superman than Cavill did I believe.

Nah, Cavill had so many supporters, the mods made a separate thread for them to stay in, lol. I haven't seen that happen with any fancasting choice since.

I remember a few less than convincing manips being floated.

Cavill was one of those casting favorites that ended up being on the money. I do remember some being in favor of Routh returning tho. Heh.
