Yes, your juxtaposition does illustrate a better correspondence between the attire of Affleck and that of a Bruce Wayne drawing, in this case, the character's depiction in B:TAS. I do maintain that Affleck has a stronger facial resemblance to Lee's and especially Aparo's Wayne, though.

I totally agree about Aparo (I tried looking for a good Aparo comparison shot but didn't find anything tha fit as well as the Swan/Cavill image in both features and attire). I don't really agree about Lee's Bruce. I'm not a fan of his Bruce because I think he is rather generic looking with the perfectly slicked hair and stylized angular square jaw. The TNAB Bruce had the same issues for me. I think Bruceffleck gets his distinctiveness from Aparo and other older sources.

Joe Manganiello being suggested so often for Supes and Shazam just reinforces to me that most fancasters here don't give a rat's ass about anything other than height and hair color. His features are all wrong, I have yet to see him in a role that would imply he could act either role well... he's just got black hair and he's built like a tank.

Yes yes yes! The guy looks nothing like Superman shoukd look and he is a bad actor...not Kristen Stewart bad but still bad. Just the thought of him as Superman makes me queasy...but I heard he was Snyder second choice.

Yes, looking at that cover, you almost get the sense that Aparo was inspired by Ben's likeness when rendering it. Interestingly enough, he wasn't properly credited for his work. It was Greg Rucka who later acknowledged -- on his website -- that Aparo was responsible for said illustration.

I agree that Affleck looks less like Lee's Wayne, which is why I emboldened my previous reference to Aparo. Where I see a similarity, however, is in the long/dolichocephalic head form -- the high cheek bones and somewhat narrow chin. You know, I actually think that Affleck himself is somewhat generic looking (not in a bad way, mind you) in the sense that he almost looks like a drawing. While not having a perfectly square jaw, his head form comes close to approaching that of a typical superhero. This is also reinforced by his narrow nose and thin lips; said features allow for him to better disappear behind the cowl. Sure, you could say that his prominent chin is a dead give-away, but I've found that Bruce Wayne has been rendered with a fairly large chin in the pages of the comics more often than not. So, for me, that's a nonissue.

I also didn't have a problem with Lee's take on Wayne's hairstyle -- I found it to be rather well-groomed. When I think of slicked-back hair, Johnny Depp's mobster look in Donnie Brasco comes to mind; and I didn't really get that from Lee.

Oh my! Becks and Supes! Awesome. And HC looks fantastic; I take back my comments about the lousy haircut. I guess it was just lousy angles that made it look bad? He and Becks look terrific.

My 2 greatest passions: Superman and football (soccer for the uneducated yanks amongst us )......excellent!!

Cavill's hair looks great as CK it's just as superman they went ahead and foolishly gave him the 'gel cap' as I like to call it, so it seems that they learned nothing from style fails of Dean Cain and Brandon Routh, sigh.

This film they better cut loose with Henry's Superman/Clark in terms of characterization and dialog. I am hoping to the wider world that he's more like he was when talking to the military, but as Clark it's more along the lines of his persona when he was with Lois.

I agree. I loved the persona they gave him for interacting with the military. It's one of my favorite things about MOS because it made me feel like it was really superman on screen.

That was my favorite too! That scene was the best for Superman in the whole movie in terms of dialog and feel. I have been begging for better and more dialog for Supes since 2006!

More dialogue for supes would be nice, especially since Cavill pulls it off so well. It'd be wise for them to showcase what an amazing casting he was.
