Guys.... Cavill can't have a successful career and he's knows it. After all, the guy is already getting stalked for twitter pics by every woman alive. If gets anymore successful, he's gonna drown in a sea of ladies! :o

Let the man protect himself, peeps!

He should lend his voice to animation. So many animated movies are in the works and at most it's a couple of day's work.

If he lends his MoS voice to a new DCAU TV show that would be awesome!

An animated JL based on the DCAU movies with Batfleck, Amy, etc. That would be a dream!

Exactly, just like how Avengers assemble is an animated show based on the MCU a DC animated show based on the DCEU and made by the team that made Young Justice would be a dream come true!

DC really kicks Marvel's arse when it comes to animation.

As it should be. Bugs Bunny is way cooler than Mickey Mouse.

Believe it or not the DTV people from WB have spoken to him about the possibility of doing the voice for a possible Superman: red son DTV animated film and Cavill was said to be quite excited about the idea.

Yup, I agree. The soonest will see the movie though is 2017, which is surprising considering how popular and famous red son is, not to mention that it features a kick-ass batman v superman confrontation, which makes the whole thing a good tie in for the movie, but alas....All we can do is wait.

Henry Cavill doesn't really have any star power. He can't headline or open a movie by himself.

"The Man from UNCLE" flopped terribly.

Cavill should be thankful that he has BvsS to fall back on.

Armie Hammer has just joined Amy in Nocturnal Animals. You can't tell me Henry couldn't have asked her to put in a good word for him and put him in that.

He'd be in a movie with Amy, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Shannon(

It's too bad UNCLE isn't doing better.
Saw it yesterday. Not bad, just not great, and not due to Henry or even Armie.
I think it "could have" been better with a better edit.

The style was there, the acting was there. The film fell short of the expectations of the trailers. Seemed like there were missing moments/shots that would have filled in the blanks and punctuated the humor and action.

Just my opinion.

Has he ever said anything that makes you think he isn't?

Maybe Cavill could stand to de-prettify himself a bit. Use an opening between the DC films to bulk down, get that beard going again or a buzz cut or whatever, anything that removes him from the "impossibly handsome" zone... and makes him therefore more elligible for "realistic" roles, perhaps. I suspect he's important for WB and that there might be a plan to keep him visible as a star outside of his Superman role. His UNCLE casting might have been a part of that and there could be more in-studio roles coming, if they can fit him into projects? But if he ever wants to impress not just as a face of a franchise but as an actor - one on the same level as some of his contemporaries - I think he needs to take a detour from the way he's been doing things so far.

He needs to go the Chris Evans route and do a couple of critically acclaimed indie films ala Snowpiercer and Puncture. I would like to see Cavill in more roles like that.

Scott Pilgrim first. ;)

I give you Snowpiercer but not Punture. Lawd. Did anyone go see his romantic film with Michelle Monaghan? Hell to the naw. I would love for Henry to be in more things, but we are also just seeing him through the looking glass. He might like his situation tho. He might be in no rush. We don't know. He had Stratton lined up and auditioned for King Arthur, so he is at least trying to go after stuff that appeals to him it seems.

This whole notion that cavill can't carry a successful movie is completely unfounded. The immortals was a weak movie (although I was entertained by it) and was panned by critics but it was very successful in the box office (over 220 million on a 75mill budget).

Apart from Cruise and to a lesser extent pitt there aren't any actors who can carry a successful movie with their presence alone. Downy Jr can't do it (the judge), Chris Evans (the very underrated snowpiercer), Chris Hemsworth (the very underrated Rush) can't either.
Johnny Depp was considered the most profitable movie star of the 2000-2009 decade and now all he has to show for himself is a string of high profile flops and rightfully so because those said movies were a steaming pile of ****.
Even Will smith can't make a hit to save his life (and it's a big reason why I think he took on Suicide squad).

'Franchises' are the name of the game, now more than ever and it's either that or indies and nothing inbetween.
Cavill needs to do what Chris pratt is doing and fight for the big franchise films, he already has Superman and now he needs Bond and once he does he's set for life, he can be like Jake gellynhal and do critically lauded passion projects and gain respect.
I'm not saying that it'll be easy but it's doable.

:funny: Yeah, a buzz cut's not going to do it, sorry - he had a buzz cut in S1 of the Tudors and was smoking hot. Even the scraggly beard had people muttering things like "lumber sexual"

Prosthetics, maybe? I mean, I'm kind of kidding and kind of not. It's one thing to say he should just do indie films, but lbr, he's not going to lose too much of the body he's now invested years into building to do some no-budget indie for "cred". I think whatever projects he signs onto between DC films are going to have to deal with him more or less the way he is. He could do a bad guy role, where his looks are part of what lets him get over on people. Or a historical maybe? I dunno.

They chose Hunnam over him for that? Damn :funny:

Well, he eventually got a role he was previously passed over for (Superman) maybe he'll get lucky again and get cast as Bond

I still hope Ritchie has him in mind for Lancelot.

How Charlie Hunnam gets chosen for anything over Henry I'll never know.

And it's a WB production as well as Ritchie casting Henry for Uncle in his previous film. So he obviously felt Hunnam was right for the part of King Arthur over Henry.

With the supposed direction they're claiming to be going for I can see why.
