Snyder's movie IS the Superman movie at production for Warners, and Brain and Kelly confirmed there's no plan for a Smallville related film.

So what's the difference?

No plan for a Smallville movie, as of yet. The producers are still open to the possibility, and its doubtful that if the movie had ties to the show that 1) They'd even be involved or 2) Would have any clue to the whereabouts of the movie. We just recently got a script, producer, and director. They are still way into the preproduction phase to have any idea what's going on.

All I'm saying is its a bit premature to automatically assume the door has been closed on that idea, just because the producers don't know anything about the upcoming film.

until i see a concrete casting for the so called reboot.... i still say there is hope for a superman movie based after smallville ends. they seem pretty tight lipped right now, so anything is possible.

tom & erica is this generations lois & clark! even a die hard superman fanboy cannot deny that after last night. they have soo much chemistry together on screen.

well ya for me its all about what the story is, casting, then seeing set photos/interviews/vids and then ultimately teasers and trailers on if i am happy with the direction and film looks to be good or not. But it def needs to be the best possible film cause its pretty much wb last shot with the character on the big screen if they screw it up again. Then even more if court rulings come 2013 dont go in wb/dc favor. though i really really hope if the new film is a big hit. It will help smooth things out with all the heirs and they can finally make a dam deal with wb/dc and everything is fine and left as it is.

after re watching the i love you scene and all the clois chemistry from last night i seriously doubt they can recapture that in the new flick. none of the incarnations have done so well as smallville did last night.

Wouldn't it just be amazing if they do get the parts for the movie? t: I can't wait to hear more about the film over time. I usually don't get impatient about things but I have been a little bit about this.

If Warners were planning a Smallville-based movie, the producers and TPTB behind Smallville would know about it at this point.

im misleading no one, i posted the link, i didn't write the story. at this point none of us know what will happen, the story or who will be cast.

Again, because Routh is actually relevant to what's happening with the films, so obviously he'd be mentioned. The news media continues to bring him up to Snyder as well:

Smallville probably isn't even on Nolan or Snyder's radar, since it doesn't have any relevance to the Superman film. This isn't a Smallville-based movie. We even had the SV producers stating there's no plans for such a thing.

What we do know is it's about the early days of Superman. And it's not based on a particular comic book (my guess it'll be a mix of a few and with some original stuff just for the film.)

Snyder nor Nolan have ruled out Tom Welling or Erica. So, until they do, if they do, I'm gonna hoping. It just seems like he would have ruled him out a long side with Routh when he did, but who knows?
