Homeland - Part 1

I'd forgotten all about that other guy in the car. I had to remind myself who he was. :p

Man, my heart was pumping at the end...

Homeland‘s recent ratings growth continued Sunday with a penultimate episode that delivered the thriller’s biggest audience of the season. Showtime’s espionage drama had 2.1 million viewers — the eighth consecutive season high for the show. It also marks Showtime’s most-watched telecast of the year.
Homeland has enjoyed a creative revival in season four, though hasn’t been able to recapture its peak viewership — its biggest number remains the third season finale (2.4 million). But since Sunday’s episode was higher than last year’s second-to-last episode, perhaps we’ll see a new all-time record set during next week’s finale.

And don't know if it has been said but the show has been picked up for a 5th season.

Another episode where Quinn is a complete badass. Those two guys didn't stand a chance. :woot: Too bad we'll never get to see Quinn vs Brody. :wow:

Well he did stab Brody in the hand!

The guy in the car at the end is probably the reason Saul wasn't brutally tortured.

I guess we can now presume who the mole in season 1 was?

That was a fantastic episode...Although, worst part of the episode was Carrie telling Quinn that he has no exit plan if he kills Haqqini but then she decides to shoot Haqqani with no exit plan. Wtf? I know she is crazy as hell but still

I seriously think this is the best season of Homeland.

They need to make Dar Adal a main baddie for this show going into next season.

I don't think he's a baddie per say. Remember the director was saying something to Carrie about the White House and the Pakistani's working on something together, and that he was out of the loop..? I think that Dar Adal may have been sent in to salvage Carrie's mistake and recover what was stolen from the embassy .

Good finale. Very quiet episode with nothing huge happening. Just setting up stories for next season which I really look forward to.

Overall this season was great. Best one since the first and made me really glad I stuck with the series. Pretty amazing what happens to a show when you cut out every single pointless character.

Finale still has a few minutes left for me. Not sure why they are padding the finale with family crap that just seems to be slowing it down.... :(

Just finished. It was okay. Shame the actor who played Carrie's dad died for real. I liked him. The funeral scenes must have been hard on the actors, that what they said was for real.

Very true... :(

I'm going to be thinking about that finale for a while. After the heightened tension they threw a curve ball that wasn't bad at all. I was expecting something ****ed up to happen, but they gave me a different kind of ****ed up. I really felt bad for everyone in the whole thing. It's like one of those bad break ups where you're not really scarred for life, or cheated on, or mentally betrayed. It's more like a, "Damn. I wasn't expecting that. I have no idea what I'm going to do next besides think about this for the next few days."

Very good season overall. I'm glad they delivered despite the new direction.

I really enjoyed the finale. It gave us something to think about with where the characters go from here. Saul accepting Dar's proposal? Quinn's future? Carrie choosing between her career and settling down with her child?

This season felt tighter, mostly due to the lack of Brody family drama. Looking forward to season 5.

Meh finale with a very weak hook for next season.

Agreed but it may also have been because the previous few eps were so action packed. So Dar's plan must be damn good if Saul is on board... I'm glad Quinn is jack Bauer now.

Totally did not hear that. Is this the last season or something?

No, looks like they just want to revamp the show for some odd reason.

Quinn who?
When Homeland returns for Season 5 this fall, Carrie Mathison will have a new man on her arm: Alexander Fehling (Inglourious Basterds) will play Jonas Happich, a lawyer dating the former Islamabad station chief during her self-imposed exile in Berlin.

n addition to Fehling, Showtime announced three additional series-regular castings Monday: Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings films) as Allison Carr, the current Berlin Chief of Station, who’s working directly under Saul; Sebastian Koch (A Good Day to Die Hard) as Otto Düring, a German philanthropist and Carries’ boss; and Sarah Sokolovic (The Good Wife) as an American journalist in Berlin who works for the foundation where Carrie and Jonas are employed.
