Horizon Horizon: Zero Dawn

One of the biggest shock for me was that Sylens was
alive/real. I thought he was going to be revealed to simply be an AI so I was taken aback the first time he showed up in person

Honestly, I thought this was one of the best games I have played in a while. I would put it up there on par with The Last of Us. I might actually like this game a little more than The Last of Us. To me, it was beautifully done. Everything about it, in my eyes, was masterful.

I loved the story and the "unique" feeling to it. The dinosaur/animals was a nice touch. I thought the combat was great and honestly, I'm not the biggest fan of RPG's but this game, this game managed to keep me immersed and enthralled with the setting and story.

I too went off and practically completed the entire game before finishing the main quest. (Something I don't generally do but, it was great interacting with all of these side characters/missions!) I will say, if I could do it over again, I probably wouldn't play that way. It's a shame because there were a lot of cool set pieces that were ruined because I had already experienced them on my own.

*Like when you have to save the soldier from all of the Snapmaws. When they come out of the water/coming over the hill and seeing them all by the waters edge, that was such a cool spectacle. I really wish that was my first time seeing them but, unfortunately, it wasn't.

The game was also incredibly easy later on with the main missions. I feel like if I hadn't upgraded all the way to level 50, some of the missions would have proven to be cumbersome/difficult. I kind of breezed through most of them. I loved the character of Aloy and how Guerrilla and co chose to write/represent her. I think they did an commendable job adding a new face to the Playstation family. I'm really, really excited for the prospect of a sequel.

I platinum(ed) this game which is something I rarely do. I have to really, really enjoy a game in order to do that. I think I only have a total of six platinum trophies. All in all, Guerrilla Games really knocked it out of the park with this one.

I beat and platinum'd the game a few days ago. It is a really great game, though I don't know if I like it quite as much as some have. The end felt rushed to me and it has some issues with expository dialogue, particularly with Aloy. But these are hardly unique problems. Overall the studio knocked it out of the park. The world they created is endlessly fascinating. I'd play any story in that world, whether it was Aloy's or not.

Throughout the campaign he's my 2nd favourite character just behind Aloy.

I loved the moment when Sylens [BLACKOUT]breaks into the arena riding a strider and flanked by Sawtooths.[/BLACKOUT]

Just got the platinum. First one since Ratchet and Clank last year

I finally picked this up the other day my first Pro supported game too wow

Loved this game.
At first didn't think it would be something for me but it just won me over. It had a blend of so many other games and it just worked. One of the best games i played on PS4.

What do yall think of the after credits scene?
The first think that came to mind was...
Wait do i gotta take down that insanely big monster that covers a hole mountain in the second game. That's gonna be rough. :woot:

I need this DLC already. Sony have all of my money with this game.

Just beat the game last night and the end was very epic! The credits were really cool to. lol Hammer DOWN that is what I was thinking to about what you said about the credits thing.

I wonder how long the DLC story will be with it being $20. The main story when I beat it for the first time last night took me about 33 hours of play time and I only did like 1 side mission. Now I did die a lot on my playthrew and that was just on normal the game is a hard game. I had like 5 parts in the game were I died a lot. If not I think it would have taken me like 23 hours.

Question do you guys think the sequel when it comes out could end up being like a early or launch ps5 game? With this game coming out when it did even if the next one came out kind of fast like say in early 2019 that would be like 5 and a half years or so after ps4 came out meaning maybe around when ps5 could be very close to coming out. I see ps5 coming out late 2019.

Playstation Blog - Horizon Zero Dawn Celebrates its First Birthday, Surpasses 7.6 Million Sales

https://blog.us.playstation.com/201...s-first-birthday-surpasses-7-6-million-sales/

7 million is truly remarkable for a new IP. Uncharted 4 sold a million more by the end of the year that it released and that was one of Sony's most well known IPs.

Only recently I bought it and I'm loving it.
What an incredible world they built in this game.

I'm a year late to the party and only just started this 4 days ago but it is already one of my favorite games in the past 10-15 years easily.

It took time with the tutorial to get going but that was good, they didn't make it one of those boring step by step ones that feel out of touch with the story. Everything felt like it was a part of the progression.

I have been avoiding spoilers as much as I can and given how awesome the world is, I do hope they do a sequel game since they stopped producing new content for this back in December (and I did get the complete edition so I have it all).

Horizon Zero Dawn Celebrates Second Anniversary, 10 Million Copies Sold Worldwide

It’s hard to believe that two whole years have passed since we released Horizon Zero Dawn. When the game launched on February 28, I was attending GDC and counting down the minutes with a group of fellow Guerrillas and Shuhei Yoshida. Early feedback suggested that we had something special on our hands, but we never suspected that we’d still be receiving daily messages of appreciation from our players in 2019.
And yet, here we are, already well over 10 million copies sold worldwide; the idea that we were able to bring Aloy’s journey to so many players is astounding. We’ve been deeply moved by the enormous amount of fan creations you’ve posted online, as well as the heartfelt letters you’ve sent sharing your favorite moments from Aloy’s journey.

10 million for a new IP is pretty good cant wait for the sequel I think it will be at or right around launch of ps5. I still need to go back and try doing side missions beat the game once but never really did side missions before. We had not had a up to date sales numbers for a while before this.

They deserve every cent.
What a fantastic game. Patiently waiting for the sequel, but I'll be there day 1.
