The Dark Knight How should be the Batmobile for The Dark Knight?

ChrisBaleBatman said:
Not really. Gotham seemed like a dark enough city, and with the crime going on....I'd imagine that at night, not many crowd would be out. And it being in black seemed to blend in nice with Gotham.

And, yeah....the reason there was achase was b/c we needed a chase for the film. The reason there was the train finale, was b/c we needed a fight at the end. The reason there was a story was b/c we needed a film. LOL....I mean, that's all obvious. But, in terms of the story....and not filming it....in the context of the story, he needed to hurry.

The Tumbler has a stealth mode. We know that, so we know how and why he cand sneak around in it.

But, we don't know if he always jets around in the thing either. He might use it some nights, might not. Since he can glide too, he's not just stuck to driving around.

I think he means the car chase seemed thrown in, mainly because there probably could've been a better way to do it.

Well, it is an action film.

And, if you want to...you can really point out that lots of things can be thrown in for any film, really.

But, I thought it fit in nicely with the story. Especially with Alfred's comments afterwards.

Actually, I think the TUMBLER ON THE ROOF scene is my favorite in the film. It was a really really fun one to watch.

It's still a city, and that means many people at any time. Being in NYC myself, I can attest to this. I am sure it is the same for Chicago.

This goes for any Batmobile in fact, not just the Tumbler. The only "realistic" car I've seen Batman use, is in Y1. An old-fashioned car that looks like any other car. :o

Yeah that was great scene.

Well....it's not Chicago...it's Gotham. lol.

Besides, he's cool with the police now...it seems. And that helps.

But, yeah...at the heart of it....you could easily complain about how he drives around in ANY batmobile. But, atleast they gave him stealth mode this time. lol.

Considering that most of the city scenes were shot right in the Chi, I think you know what I mean. :o

^^^

But still, it was Gotham City - not real city.

Besides, even if Tumbler was so huge and making so much noice, it doesn't mean that it will be able to slide to the side of side walk, does it?

All what Batman was needed is to went away from the police.

Yea, Still Gotham.

The police chase was just ****ing cool. He needed to get away to save Rachel. He told Alfred so.

Dude....um....that's avi of yours. I dunno.....

Funny, I could've sworn Nolan himself said the whole point of filming in the Chi was to make Gotham feel like a real city. In which case, my point still stands as anything that happens in real life can be applied to the movie's city as well.

Yes, but it isn't documentary movie. It is summer blockbuster, which should have action.

Nolan wanted to show his realistic vision on Gotham, but this doesn't mean that evereything should be like in real life.

In real life there wouldn't be any superheroes like Batman or Spider-man.

That's the thing though......it's made to look like a real city, but Gotham isn't a real city. The Narrows aren't a real part of the city either, it was filmed on the lot and contructed for the film.

I dunno....I think since it's so small, and looks so "Home porn" like......I keep thinking your a chick.

It's very confusing.

Wasn't arguing that.

Just saying that it would be silly to assume the Tumbler would actually be able to cruise through the city streets w/o anyone noticing. Like I said, it is a city and people are outside no matter what time it is. It would be hard as hell for Batman to drive around going unnoticed.

Even if he had the stealth mode on, that only prevents radars from detecting him. People still have eyes. And with a city being lit up everywhere, the Tumbler would stick right out.

How I wish. :(

That it was a home porn, anyway. Because I'd love to f**k Rosario Dawson. :o

Cinemaman's best post ever.

If you read 2nd part of my post, you'd understand what I'm trying to say.

If you read my 1st sentence, you'd understand I'm not talking about that.

Ok, so you are saying that if there was a crowd of people, this scene would look right, yeah?

Don't get me wrong, but sometimes you are really sound a bit picky.

..the hell?! Dawg that's not what I was saying at all.

Read my post again man. CBB brought up how the Tumbler could probably drive around the city w/o being seen. And I responded by saying I don't see how that's possible, when you're in a big city full of people and lights. What's so hard about understanding that?

Sorry, but I just didn't read the whole your argue (or talking?) with ChrisBaleBatman and that is why I din't get your post right.

Stealth mode.....we're forgetting stealth mode. It's like the silent killer.....only, more silent.

Like I mentioned before, that only prevents radar detection. From what I saw in BB, it also quiets down the engine. But you also have to take into account there's no invisibility cloak or something. Meaning people will still see it on the streets.

Regardless of what? Batman was all about stealth last I checked. :o

Yeah, and long, black sexy rides with a big-ass turbine jet in the rear are oh-so-invisible aren't they?

But on streets where the lights arent as pronounced, it pops out of nowhere when it ceases stealth mode. Coolest car ever.
