The Dark Knight How should be the Batmobile for The Dark Knight?

Just because the design would be changed, doesn't mean the "roar" would have to go as well. It's all on the inside after all.

Yeah you're right. It's not about the look or the size, it's the impact that counts. :p :woot:

I think they should keep the concept of the tanklike vehicle but redesign the outer shell

I agree with some others on here who say keep the tumbler the way it is except for adding a few new weapons on it, like a grapple gun or guns with rubbers bulletts to take down bad guys.

What if Alfred extends his chauffeur duties to include the life of Batman as well?

That does happen in the comics.

i'm hoping they can streamline the design of the tumbler a bit, and add more gadgets.

Nolan said that he was happy with the batmobile they had it the first film. He said they got it perfect. They'll be keeping it, trust me.

PS. I've seen the tumbler in real life. I was 2 feet away from it.

yeah i actually saw them pull four tumblers off of flatbeds for the chase scene. i saw it hit 90 mph on chicago streets with the engines roaring off the buildings at 5a.m.

IT WILL NOT BE REPLACED.

i think nolan will even further distance his series from the old films and batman will not get a flashy new car every movie.

Who says it's going to be replaced? If anything it'll be modified to look less raw and bar. As of now it looks like a frame for a Batmobile and not the Batmobile itself. I'm sure Bruce and Alfred will do a little work on it to make it less...jagged.

Why should they? It´s a tool for him, he doesn´t want to impress chicks with it.

I'm sure he has his reasons...

...Why is everyone forgetting that this is a Batman movie? The Tumbler's great and all but it's no Batmobile. Keep it's function, change the look.

There shouldn't be a batmobile at all. It makes no sense, in the movies or in the comics. How does a guy who's supposed to be an "urban legend" and "stealthy" do that driving around in a highly stylized car/tank? If he needs a car it should be one that fits in with the regular cars on the street to "blend in with the shadows" as it were. If needed it could change in appearence to "strike fear into the hearts of villians." But no silly car/tank with fins.

The returns batmobile was totally stupid, it had no fender, yet the tires smashed through concrete and Batman had to take his eye off the road in order to switch modes between driving and firing the weapons. Pretty lame.

I agree with you 100%. The concept of the Batmobile works (barely) in the comics and better in the cartoons.

But in a movie: uh-uh. I cringe every time they show any of the Batmobiles in any of the movies. The Schummacher ones were the worse - with all the bright neon highlights to draw attention to it. LAME!!

If Batman has to drive around in something (and I don't argue that he needs wheels to get around) - it would be cool to have him drive something like the Green Hornet's car - Black Beauty.

Something distinct, but not so flashy with all the huge fins and and flares. Something that could blend into the crowd - not draw attention to itself.

I'm beat man. I want some upgrades. Weaponry yeah, but I'd also like to see some physical makeup. Maybe cause I'm such a fan of the classic Burton batmobile. The tumbler's an awesome vehicle, and I can understand everybody who says that it's a real world car and all that jazz. But still, this is Batman. I don't really see a guy dressing up as a bat in real life. Seems kind of ridiculous to me. So call me crazy, but I'd like to see some ridiculously batty alterations to the car, just for old times sake.

Drawing attention is actually kind of the point. That's why it's such a big, loud, and obnoxious beast. Always has been. It lets people know that the Batman is coming and they better stop what they're doing and scatter...The best comparison I can think of is kind of a "Big Brother is watching" vibe when he patrols the streets in the Batmobile. The damn thing should look like a creature, in and of itself. Like a mutated car (which was why I liked Burton's the best).

With the Tumbler, it's already scary but someone can make this thing look alive. Lights/eyes blaring at you with horns(fins) in the back. I want this f**ker to look like it can eat you.

Hell ma****in jeyah!

i say leave it as is. 1- for continuity and 2-because it looks nice. not a traditional look of course, but considering what it did in Begins i am very satisfied with it.

if they wanted to do anything though, they could put a shell over it- have less open gaps on it.

Keep the Tumbler for consistency, keep it gritty and scary. It's a f**&$ing BEAST, just add a few upgrades here and there. And I wish it wasn't chased by or running over cop cars this time around.

Personally I really loved the Tumbler and the only change I would want possibly made is maybe make it smaller, sleeker, and faster.

I didn't like the tumbler that much, it needs to LOOK like a Batmobile! I don't care if the Tumbler is in the sequel, but Burton's Batmobile was the best.

:down:eek:

I dunno some people still want the smooth "pimp mobile" look. I think the rough tumbler look is perfect for this new franchise.

Funny thing is if BB started out with a sleeker car, people here wouldn't even be complaining for a more "realistic" vehicle.

^first off...... when writing a tittle for a thread.... I could care less about spelling, but can people atleast try to form a adequate statement, question or topic with proper grammar

How... Should..... Be... The .... Batmobile.... for... the.... dark....knight

lol

I think the thread should be.... How should the Batmobile look and perfrom in the new, "The Dark Knight", movie...

well to answer your question, modify it a little bit, but keep the overall look and feel....

and the schumacher and burton batmobiles were awful, for the record that is

dont be so anal, you get the idea
