Repulsor Blast: Okay yeah, I can definitely see resemblance with Dane Dehaan now. I think it might be that his hair looks kind of like Andrew's in that picture. I still have no doubt that Norman will look like the 616 Goblin too.

EDIT:
Spiderdevil: complicate things? hmmm... I suppose it would be confusing for the movie's general audience, that is a good point.

That totally looks like Andrew Garfield. Everyone sees that right? Look at the nose, and the hairline.

My guess is were totally getting some type clone storyline. In fact I bet it all ties into Peter's fathers work, and why Peter is special blah blah blah, why Oscorp wants him etc etc.

I'm sure Harry with be a villain too, but that's totally Andrew Garfield on the sled.

When Clone/Peter/Goblin kills Gwen-- The public will assume it Peter Parker. He'll get outed as Spiderman etc etc.

I think...cause yeah...That image is of Andrew Garfield

Looks like Garfield Goblin is going to become the new "Venom in the eye" or "Blue vs Purple".

I actually love it.

It's not Harry(DeHann),
it's Harry showing off some of Oscorp technology...mainly the Glider & Hologram(cough cough Chameleon). That image is a Hologram of Peter, that Harry is playing around with, photo-shopping this hideous look on Peter's image on the Glider....just the two messing around, in that office lab, when Peter visits Harry at Oscorps. That image isn't what many of you think it is.
I do love the mystery & intrigue though. ;)

This is what I see

I think you guys are looking too much into it. I think Marc Webb and the producers know how hated the Clone Saga was in the comic books, and it would just look silly on screen. Andrew vs. Andrew? Nope, not happening unless they completely run out of ideas.

One thing people were worried about was that Sony would be listening to the fans a little too much and letting them make creative decisions. Avi Arad likes to look at message boards and see what people have to say.

However, the fact that Harry is the first Goblin shows that the studio isn't afraid of taking risks and isn't going to make all of their decisions based on a bunch of whiny fanboys on the internet. I know I'm one of them, but sometimes us comic book geeks want everything lifted right off of the comic book page, and that just doesn't work.

We seen storyboards that explain away the goblin, so why would it end being Peter?

Its a picture of dehaan with a similar hair style to what Andrew usually has, we should find a picture with dehaan with his hair spiked if there is one

I wouldn't have thought he looked anything like Andrew if nobody had mentioned it. Once again, people looking too much into it.

On closer inspection, that really does look like Garfield.

My theory is - the pic could be a poorly photoshopped attempt at having *a* goblin ready for the promo posters. Dehaan will be on the glider in the movie, but perhaps they just editted a Garfield face pic and stuck it there while WETA finish the effects for real.

@Picard Sisko - this board was nothing without you, so glad you're back!

You do realize
Peter & Harry was playing with some of Oscorps prototype gadgets doing Peter's visit.

Movie studios don't and should not EVER base any decisions on the whacked out, fanboy conspiracy theories from the landfill that is the internet. Just look at some of the speculation on this page! Some people are actually convinced that because the promo image of Dehaan as the Goblin bears a slight resemblance to Garfield, that a clone-saga storyline is afoot or some other conspiratorial nonsense.

However, the fact that Harry is the first Goblin shows that the studio isn't afraid of taking risks and isn't going to make all of their decisions based on a bunch of whiny fanboys on the internet.

I'd love to see any of the fanboys on here take a crack at writing or directing any of these stories. *Shudders*

Yup. Leave it to the obsessive fanboys to deconstruct every meaningless detail and coincidence. "Look! You can see Venom in the eye!!!!1!!" :whatever: It's no wonder shows like the Big Bang Theory still exist.

I can't believe Vid is defending something in this movie!! :shock

:cwink:

There wasn't any "deconstruction" about it, it ****ing looks like Andrew and that was the first thing I thought when I saw the image. If that makes me an "obsessive fanboy" then so be it, I guess. :whatever:

The Spider-Man comics will always be my favorite, but some things really just don't work on screen. I don't know about any of you, but would you guys want to see Spider-Man fight Tarantula, Big Wheel, or Arcade in a movie? No, of course not! Anyways, who would want to see a shot-for-shot adaption of the comic books? Wouldn't that just be boring and predictable?

ah sheesh, let me get this right for all of you
the one on the glider looks nothing like garfield

see? this is garfield!

so you think harry and peter were playing about with photoshop and fox decided to put that in a poster?
