How to make Hawkman?

I would take at this point Travis Fimmel or Alexander Skarsgard or Justin Hartley to be Hawkman and for Hawkgirl...Eiza Gonzalez is my pick

Jake Gyllenhaal?

I believe an actor of that fame and caliber needs to be Hawkman

I mean Jake was a part of the MCU as Mysterio playing a villain but to see him join the DCEU as a hero this time...I would want to see it but then again for Hawkman I am sure they probably want to go with a lesser known actor but one that is still kind of huge

The film needs an actor that can draw people.

Wonder Woman's golden eagle armor gives a hint on how Hawkgirl and her male counterpart will look like in a future film.
As you can see, the helmet is not too big like it was in Smallville, or not dorky as in Arrowverse.
This one is actually cool. Which is proof that even the Hawk couple can work very well in live action.

Just needs some tweeks to appear more egyptian and hawk like. Other than that, the design is pretty much set.
WW's armor already posess a godly/otherworldly quality, and that's how the Hawk couple should look.

Wonder Woman's new costume should have been the costumes for Hawkman and Hawkgirl in their live action film

Just thinking that this is similar to what live action Hawkman can be, maybe even better looking after the added egyptian tweeks, gives me nerdgasm.

Comparing with other campy looking CB characters, we already saw that Captain America's costume can look good in a major film.
And then we got Aquaman, even his suit worked amazingly well.

These are good times for superhero geeks and nerds :D

Nothing is too dorky to be made cool! Just give us Hawkman now!!!!

Yeah but with the right actor in the role

On second thought, if the rumors are true, then casting someone like Zeeko Zaki would get me very interested in Hawkman (a solo film in general)! Throw in Sofia Boutella as Hawkgirl, like the rumors state, and I’m there opening night!

PS: Zeeko would easily give Jason a run for his money as the best looking DCEU male

Perhaps we can forget about Gyllenhaal then. He's already played Mysterio in MCU and probably won't be in another superhero film.
Warner is said to eye a muslim actor, anyway.

My pitch

Set in the early 1940’s, British intelligence officers Carter Hall and his wife Shiera face off against a band of Nazis to recover an ancient magical relic from Egypt. Upon possessing the artifact, Carter and Shiera discover they are the reincarnated forms of Katar Hol and Shayera Hol, humanoid-aliens from the planet Thanagar. With the new found knowledge of their former lives brought to light and access to the unique element known as “Nth metal”, Carter and Shiera take flight to apprehend Byth, an alien war criminal hiding in Nazi occupied France.

It would basically merge all the elements of the Hawkman mythos covering their life in Thanagar, their journey across space to apprehend Byth only for him to get away multiple times. Their reincarnated lives would cover ancient Egypt, Rome, the Renaissance, Colonial Era and the majority of the story would be in 1940’s France.

It would be sort of inspired by Indiana Jones and Inglorious Basterds. By the end of the film both Hawkman and Hawkwoman would die again but they would finally stop Byth. Eventually they would be reincarnated to present day and meet each other again to fit in with the fabric of the DCEU timeline.

Nice plot idea there, Tg11.

Isn't it sad that we won't get to see this actor as the hero?

Well, I'm sure I will get a lot of people shooting down this idea for the origin of Hawkman on screen but....it is possible to loosely connect the Egyptian story line with a 'space connection'.

It can start off in the 1930s or 40s with Carter Hall , as an archaeologist , who was selected to join a team that discovered an Egyptian tomb.

Soon after he arrives at the dig site, he & the team finds a wall of hieroglyphs no one is able to decipher right away.
As the team studies the symbols all day & into the night, they go to sleep after a long day at their campsite in the desert.
Around midnight he bolts out of his tent, running into the tomb with the now uncoded information from a dream of him being in Egypt thousands of years ago is unfolded by an Egyptian god.
The dream reveals to him that you have this vast knowledge of our culture, artifacts & history because , you were there.
You lived among us as Khufu & it is thru the powers of reincarnation you were awakened & called back here.
He then scrambles down to the tomb to find a hidden antechamber with more hieroglyphs and the Hawkman armor/Nth metal.
Then looking closely at the pictures on the walls , interprets there was something that descended upon the Egyptians, visitors from the skies that gave them technology beyond their comprehension.
[I have seen many TV specials & shows, if you're like me History channel is full of them showing some alien intervention in Egypt's history]

Then he could use the Nth metal technology and start the legend of Hawkman .

What or who the villain is can be worked out , Also..it gives a sequel idea for later of trying to get to or find Thanagar, showing a space themed movie of who & why the Aliens are & how they have been making contact on earth longer than we have realized.

And my choice for a director, since he does period pieces well & shows he can with Captain America & the Rocketeer....Joe Johnston

I like this but how do you bring Hawkman and Hawkgirl into present day modern day DCEU especially if they do not "age" unless you have them cryogenically frozen or something I don't know

I know this has pretty much zero chance of happening, but wouldn’t it be great if WW84 introduced the hawks, and they (Hawkgirl at least) loans her armour to Diana?

Would kinda’ explain why she doesn’t use it again. As much as I’m also for Hawkman, I think they should first focus on Hawkgirl. The larger players need a bit of gender diversity I think, and if WB were to keep to the characters of old, or the ones that would be an easier fit, Hawkgirl and Jessica Cruz would be my JL additions and Hawkgirl should be introduced before Hawkman.

There's no way they won't go the reincarnation route with all this. Too much potential, and built in reboot potential.

The idea about the armour sounds like it could be an explanation, yes.
But why didn't the Hawks help WW out then?

I think post Snyder cut, the sky may be the limit as far as what WB will do in terms of continuity. The idea of only one Batman at a time, one Superman at a time, or the " Superman can never appear on TV while an actor plays him in the movies" mentality may have gone out the window.

Even the idea that a film actor can't, or must no,t appear on one of our shows has clearly been amended. Ezra Miller appearing on the CW crossover signaled to me that WB is ready and willing to lean into the idea of a multiverse without being skiddish out about it the way they tended to be in the 90s and early 00s.

You add to that projects like the Joker, Aquaman , WW 1984, and The Batman, Cavill's Superman appearances, the Superman Lois show, and a Bruce Wayne turning up in a sense in Batwoman, etc, all basically happening at the same time

In fact, WB/At&T may figure that the multiverse concept will be one of the ways they separate themselves from other studios.

Now ,whether that means a sequel to JL with a grizzled veteran Batman will co exist with a younger inexperienced Bruce Wayne in The Batman in theaters, remains to be seen.

Its certainly very possible, and is something I would be totally down for.

At this point, i've learned to never say never when it comes to Hollywood.

In a world where Routh, Welling, Houchlin all appear as Clark Kent in the same crossover event, Where Henry Cavill returns as Superman after being counted out by fanboys like me, Where the Snyder cut is coming, and where there is serious talk and discussion about Tobey Macguire and Andrew Garfield returning to the Spiderman franchise in one form or another, I'd say anything is possible.

The idea about the armour sounds like it could be an explanation, yes.

How do you explain all that away

That would actually be a rather easy explanation; if WB go the reincarnation route with them, then they could be elderly in WW84 (or even die) and their new, modern day selves haven't woken up yet.

I like that explanation

They have to be old, or dead, or dying while helping WW.
If they haven't awakened, they wouldn't know who they really are. How can they give Diana some armour then?

I like it because that way you tie things together universally in this interconnected shared universe much like how Marvel ties things together...with Hawkman and Hawkgirl showing up in WW 84 or even being referenced as far as the armor with Diana getting her armor from them...it all ties together and personally I like how DC is trying the universe together which is what they should do; reincarnation explains a lot especially with Hawkman, Hawkgirl and it explains Steve Trevor being resurrected after we saw him die in the first WW film

I meant only that they haven't awakened in the present day.

Wait, what if Steve Trevor is Carter Hall? :wow:

Agree that Marvel ties stuff together in a good way. Maybe the same will finally be done in DCU as well.

That would be unexpected, but a very welcome twist - except that ... aren’t the Hawks destined to be with each other? Kinda’ puts Diana on the burner. Not that writers can’t overlook one romance for another.
