The Dark Knight Rises How Would You Continue the Story from TDKR? (Spoilers)

A great comeback with meaning would be some kind of assassination of Selina, but then Bruce will be all alone again. It then would be someone else death for him to come back.
That's the plot for 2nd Bourne movie. His girl dies and he has to come out of hiding.

The platform rises along with Blake and all the Bat equipment was revealed before his eyes. He inspects all of them in great awe. An idea forms in his mind and he now understood what Bruce was trying to tell him. He takes out his phone and snaps pictures of the equipment. He logs into his EBay account and uploads all the pics. Starting bid is $10,000 for all the equipment. He can finally leave the hellhole that is Gotham and take that vacation he's been dreaming since he was a kid and imagined how to live life like Bruce Wayne. He always wanted to visit Italy so that is his first stop. Bruce has finally given him the means to do so. Thank you Bruce.

Get away from her, you!

Besides they already did that in the comics. That's the origin of the Huntress, Helena Wayne

Very interesting.

Unless there is a 4th installment, we cannot prove that Blake did not do this.

As far as we know, he might have sold all of that stuff.

It should have ended with EVERYONE in the cafe. Not just Alfred, Bruce, and Selina, but also Gordon, Fox, Blake. They all just sit around nodding at each other, glad to be rid of Gotham. And then CGI images of Twoface and The Joker, nodding their approval.

And then, after the credits, Bruce sings "Can't take my eyes off you" to Selina. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6XGUhzfutc

I'd call it Shadow of the Batman.

John Blake left the Gotham Police Department and found the Batcave, but he doesn't intent to replace Bruce Wayne as Batman. He has become friends with James Gordon, who has been replaced as the Commissioner of Police and is under federal investigation for covering up the crimes commited by Harvey Dent 10 years prior. Gordon's daughter, Barbara, has moved back to Gotham to attend Gotham University and support her father, and becomes romantically attached to Blake in the process.

Oswald Copplebot, the CEO of Cobblepot Developments, becomes the new Mayor of Gotham and overrules the Dent Act, leading to thousands of legal processes to short out the arrests that Gordon has made under it. Because of this, the streets are filled with criminals once more, and a new mobster, Tony Zucco, is reuniting them under his rule, creating a crime syndicate that not even Carmine Falcone and Sal Maroni were able to in their time.

Zucco is supported by mercenaries David Cain and Floyd Lawton, and Blake soon learns of his existance. He and Barbara begin investigating the matter without police protection, and end up discovering that Zucco is being supported by Cobblepot, the real mastermind behind the organized crime.

Blake tells Barbara the truth about Batman, and decides to take up the cowl in order to stop Cobblepot before more innocent lives are lost. Blake trains, and gain some knowledge of combat, though he is still not a match for Wayne. Barbara helps him perfect Bruce's equipment to suit him, and Blake begins sabotaging Cobblepot's operations and gathering evidence of his crimes to present to the police.

The movie develops Blake's confrontation with Cobblepot, him easying into the role of Batman, and his final acceptance of the mantle and the rise of Gotham's new protector. Intercut, is the birth of Blake's nemesis, FBI profiler Edward Nygma, who assists in the investigation of Gordon and slowly becomes obssesed with the new Batman and descends further into his need to "solve the riddle", becoming the Riddler in the fifth movie.

The only thing that slightly worries me about that is the age range between Blake and Barbara mainly because I cant remember how old she looked in The Dark Knight but im sure she was really young. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I guessed she was 10. Which would make her 20, 20 years later.

Blake looked 21 in in The Dark Knight Rises. That'd made him 23.

Not that far off, in my opinion.

Yeah I guess your right. I guess I imagined Blake as a bit older and wasn't really taking into account how long 8 years actually is.

I think that if HBO got a hold of this material, they could make a Batman TV series similar to The Sopranos/The Wire/Six Feet Under/Boardwalk Empire... This would allow the material to take on an even more adult tone. NO NETWORK TV!!! As far as continuing the story with JGL's character---that could be done; but perhaps keeping John Blake as Robin and giving him the opportunity to find a new successor to Bruce Wayne who would become the new Batman... Although as far as all of the legal stuff involving story rights and what studio can do what---I have no idea if this could even be done... All I know is that if it happens, I'm tuning in.

Totally ignore John Blake becoming Batman or red hood. Have a justice league movie with Batman missing but some how the plot revolves around the team needing Batman. Superman finds Batman (Christian Bale) in Italy married and living with Catwoman (Hathaway). He's not interested in joining the league, until Selina is killed or seriously injured while expecting their first child. She miscarries, Wayne goes into a rage blaming Superman for brining misery back to his life. He returns to Gotham to to battle with the MOS but realizes something isn't right & finds out who is really responsible for Selina's demise.

But he realizes he can't defeat this new enemy(s) alone. He reluctantly joins the league but comes to realize this is his new family & he's meant to fight crime at the batman.

Of course it will never come to pass. WB just isn't that smart. But my dream is for WB to launch a JLA is 2 or 3 years. The first movie would be putting the league together with Batman as the last piece. It would be Bale living quietly in Italy.

Say what you will but Christian Bale IS BATMAN now. Whether he likes it or not. Rebooting in 2016 with a new actor is just too soon and its stupid. Launching a JLA without Bale as Batman is stupid & insulting. They are just making movies to make $ and not for the art or passion. TDKR could lead right into Bale being the dark knight in a JLA film.

This is an Interesting idea but Bale wont do it. Not without Nolan anyway.

Good idea, but if we all held onto it we would make ourselves crazy. Ive moved on, Bale will never do a Justice League or anything without Nolan.

It's unfortunately true. Bale seems content that Nolan has told his story. If WB really wanted they could do a pseudo-continuation of Bale's Batman that could grow less grounded as time goes on.

I believe Bale trusts Nolan because Nolan took the campiness out of all the previous Batman films & did the character and the universe justice. If a director could be found that would follow suit & keep things real without the camp & if WB were to offer Bale the same deal Disney offered Downey salary plus a % of profits Bale would do it. Money talks BS walks. A JLA movie would do 400 million domestically alone even it were marginally good. It would be fair to because Bale has proven he's a box office draw.

I have no doubt it would make a bucket load of cash but I really dont think Bale is that way inclined as a person and I think he would stick to his guns and stay away unless Nolan is involved.

Although it makes you think doesn't it. Nolan said he has finished with the Batman films but he does have a hand in Man of Steel. Maybe he is the man to over see the entire build up to JLA.??? Maybe the whole DC universe is going the way Nolan created it in The Dark Knight Trilogy..... probably not but its Just a Thought.

First teaser poster

The background has lightning cracking behind Old Wayne Manor/Orphanage. Foreground shows a large tombstone reading WAYNE, with Thomas and Martha listed at the bottom, and Bruce listed above center. A shadowed figure hold his head low, right hand covering Bruce's name. Red accents are visible on the shadowed man. Top of poster reads Joesph Gordon-Levitt, bottom reads BEYOND BEGINS

Here is my new brief ideas of how I would like the story to continue of the next 2 films.

The first Film would be called Gotham followed by a Nightwing Film. The final film of the trilogy would be called Gotham Knight but I havent thought into that one as yet.

Gotham.

This film would have John Blake still being just John Blake living in the Batcave. The only person who know this is Lusious Fox as Bruce had left Blake him as a contact.
I spent some time looking through Batmans foes and stumble across the below and his story.
With my idea of have Blake still just Blake I feel this guy could be a good foe for him to catch being more of a detective than anything else.
Brainy Walker was paroled after three years for counterfeiting and immediately set out to commit fresh crimes. This time though, he used counterfeit thousand-dollars in bills as a distraction. He first planted the phony bills around Gotham City and broadcast clues to there whereabouts. The streets were choked as citizen sought the money. This kept the police occupied with crowd control and traffic control, allowing Walker to commit robberies in relative peace.
Holly Robinson will come into this pretty much as she was in The Dark Knight Rise just one her own without Selina. She is not the new Catwoman..(yet)
Scarecrow I can see having a smaller part again, I like the idea of him maybe messing with Brainy Walker.
John Blake would decide to don a suit and become Nightwing at the end of this film.

Main Characters:
John Blake
Brainy Walker
Luscious Fox
Commissioner Gordon
Dr Crane/Scarecrow

NightWing

Main Cast
John Blake/NightWing
Barbara Gordon
Oswald Cobblepott/The Penguin
Luscious Fox
Commissioner Gordon

I was looking back over Penguins history and i Noticed the below which I thought would go well into my story arc. (Obviously replace Jean Paul Valley's Batman with John Blake who is now become NightWing and Sarah Gordon replace with Barbara Gordon.

The Penguin resurfaced during Jean Paul Valley's tenure as Batman, as one of the few to deduce that Valley is not the original Batman. To confirm this theory, he kidnaps Sarah Essen Gordon, places her in a death-trap set to go off at midnight, and turns himself in, utilizing the opportunity to mock Commissioner Gordon as midnight approaches. An increasingly infuriated Gordon is nearly driven to throw Cobblepot off of the police headquarters roof, before Valley shows up in the nick of time with a rescued Sarah.

I'm not sure how many will like this idea, but I am a fan of beyond.

I would have John Blake take over batmans role In a progressively more advanced Gotham each entry. More and more blade runner each entry of three part series.

I think it could very easily mix with a justice league movie. Seeing how Bruce uses mechanical enhancement throughout each film, I see a powered exoskeleton as the next logical upgrade. Also as a sidenote it would be the only way for a mortal to keep up with the godlike powers of superman.

In each film batman has to deal with the villains and each film requires him to be faster stronger and better.

After establishing a new tone(set in the not too distant future).
With a few villains done(maybe riddler, freeze, penguin, deadshot, firefly, etc), a justice league movie, and a few years passed since the departure of ledger I think doing a take on the return of the joker storyline would be awesome.
Have bale called out I retirement to be an elderly Bruce Wayne.

Look up batman beyond concept art, made my jaw drop.

I'd call it TDK Legacy or TDK Legend

And it's essentially be the story very similar to the oft forgotten, very well done superhero film, the Mask of Zorro

Another story about a human legend who passes down his legacy to an heir, and trains him to be his successor

Blakeman tries to round up the blackgate prisoners running loose in Gotham and comes across The Joker. He is killed in the prologue with a pipe, ala the comics.

Bruce Wayne realizes that he has to become the Batman again and goes off to fight The Joker.

Stuff happens.

At one point in the film, a character asks what time it is. Another character responds: "About 5 o'clock." Fans online immediately debate whether or not Clock King will be in the sequel.

Miranda Tate comes back from the dead. She's filthy from digging her way out of the grave and decides to take a shower. The scene is 50 minutes long and features full-frontal nudity.

Harley Quinn, working for the Joker reveals to Batman that Selina has been kidnapped. Batman yells "WHERES SELINAAAAAAAA WHERE IS SHEEEE I WANNA KNOW WHERE SHE ISSSSSS ARRRRRGH WHERE IS SHE YOUD NEVER KIDNAP AN ORDINARY CITISHUNNNNN"

Alfred gets laid.

Blake chooses not to become a superhero

He gets more involved with the community

Gotham is being rebuilt

Clean, safe, happy

- Boring Gotham begins and Rises
