look alexis bledel she is 30 but still looks like a teenager and played side by side next to saoirse ronan and looked same age
What about another young english actor, Thomas Sangster (now that his hair has darkened)?
Just looked at imdb, and talking about looking young - perfect example if that's right... I'd say he'd definitely need to similarly bulk up a bit, definitely the thinnest Robin of the bunch, but he does remind me of one of the cartoon incarnations of Robin.
I've always thought our best actors come from overseas. And watching their TV programs where a lot start - there's no wonder why. As a film maker, I want to move out there just to work in TV even though I got the right contacts here in the States.
Well, I generally go for English actors first as they are usually classically trained. So they start at a school theatres, then TV then film. Whereas in the states it's model, (soap), tv, film. I'm not saying the actors aren't as good, but there is a greater abundance of good actors in the UK.
Thomas Sangster would be a good choice, he's defintely got the eternal youth look on his side. But he's got a rather narrow frame for such an athletic character.
If we're also trying to broaden the topics of discussion, what kind of suit design would you go for for Batman (and co?), what would be your cave and Batmobile designs?
The Boy Scout: See, Robin looks like a young teenager in that pic.
And if Batman can go without armor, having only body tight suit, in a new series of films - I am sure Robin go that way too.

That Lambo Batmobile was used in Batman: Noel.
The whole Robin talk?
Ironically they were going to make a TV show about Robin.
He's fourteen on that show. In live action, I don't think he should be any younger than fifteen.
As long as the suit looks good and like it can actually protect Wayne from gunfire and such, I don't really care what it's made out of.
I think Batman's Young Justice suit is more or less perfect. Just lose the briefs, give him the boots and gloves/gauntlets (and maybe even the cowl) of the DCnU Batman, and darken the gray.

Nightwing's Arkham City suit is perfect.

Batgirl's DCnU suit, from what I've seen of it, looks pretty good.

As for the Batmobile...

Just make the windows blood red.
Love that Batmobile
i always thought that the batmobile should be a stylised fast car...no more, no less, with prehaps armour of some sort and a weapon or two, but no way a tank like the Nolan films.
Gotham is a safe place again, i can imagine governers etc have all stepped up their game and got gotham on the right tracks. So ideally Bruce can revert to being a detective, just keeping tabs on specific events. For this, a toned down Batman can be revealed. Almost like another poster mentioned, a dark, ninja detective. That would allow Bruce to wear a suit similar to animated series.
We could have batman as a protector, a vigilante, surveiling mobs and strike, before the cops arrive.
I'd like a story line where there is a hostage situation, someone is kidnapped and no one knows where they are. Through Bruce's detective work, he tracks them down, infiltrates the building and gets them out.
I'm not too familiar with the batman story lines of late, but a story arc where the asylum is where the the hostage scenario takes place, would be pretty cool![]()
I've always said that it would be interesting to do a Batman film set during the 1930's. Something about that period just seems perfect for DC's superheroes, especially Batman. I'd love to see what a 1930's Batmobile would look like, what a 1930's Joker would be like, throw in some gangsters and organised crime, the depression as a backdrop, alcohol prohibition, etc and you've got the potential for a unique take on a superhero.
Personally, I'm more interested in a contemporary Batman. Plus, we've kind of already seen a period piece Batman, Tim Burton 's Batman was set in 1947.
