Days of Future Past Hugh Jackman IS The Wolverine Thread - Part 1

Missed the metal claws, but Jackman was even better in DOFP than The Wolverine. It was all so perfectly natural. He probably doesn't even have to act anymore. He is Logan.
It was too good.

Sign me up for more Wolverine. I think many "yyynngh too much wolverine"-people changed their minds after DOFP. Some of them are even complaining he isn't doing enough in the flim. That's what happens when someone is THAT.DAMN.GOOD.

Hugh is awesome in this role. I noticed when he has his first encounter with the goons when he has just gone back in time his face is shocked to see the bone claws come out. I thought that was great, really cool to see him so invested in the role he does something that subtle. Adds a lot IMO.

I would love to see Wolverine as one of Apocalypses horsemen in the next one and have Apoc give him the adamantium.

I also liked the added touch of him going through the metal detectors, wondering why they didn't go off, and then remembering he hasn't gotten his adamantium skeleton yet.:yay:

Yeah, I laughed, and a few people looked at me all strange. I'm not sure if some people got what I thought was a very obvious joke.

We're so lucky that Jackman loves the role. When has an actor ever played a comic book character this many times?? Too bad the actors in the MCU don't have the same type of enthusiasm.

It would have been interesting if Wolverine checked his claws in 2023 expecting bone claws, but instead adamantium claws came out. Wolverine would then ask Professor X, "How did I get these..."

"Oh that was a very interesting time...where do I begin?"

Cut to black

X:Men - Age of Apocalypse

They are extremely fortunate that they did cast an actor that not only loves to play Wolvie, but also can still get the physique to play him. Casting like this don't come too often. Only other actor I can think that has the same passion would be, Ian McKellan for Gandalf, Orlando Bloom for Legolas and Andy Serkis for Gollum.

Best cameo EVER! Hands-down.

Now I only hope for DOFP, young Xavier gets the one f-bomb allowed, and throws it back in Wolverine's face. Full circle! :funny:

Almost, it's tied to Sharon Stone's cameo in Last Action Hero and Captain America in Thor 2.

Now, in DOFP, I didn't like Xavier's F bomb. It was too serious.

My audience this weekend laughed at that.

And my dad and I are still going around saying, "Are you gonna pick this **** up?" :funny:

You can both take it to the extreme and throw some **** around the floor before one of you throws the punchline.

When he came to our screening on Saturday, someone asked (again!) if he'd ever do an Avengers movie. He said, "**** yeah!" :funny:

Damn, this is when I wish these studios would patch their differences. I would love to see Wolverine's personality being bounced off of the likes of Steve, Tony and Thor.

I'd be amazingly fine if there'd be a movie where Wolverine was the only mutant.

I'd like a Wolverine movie where they include Rogue, Iceman and Pyro again, and maybe even Nightcrawler. That was a dream team there for me.

When his nude scene came up, a guy said, "This is highly unnecessary."

I think all of the younger guys from the past should have shown their assets. It's only fair after all of the women running around in skimpy outfits in First Class, now is the time to show some of the guys barechested, showing off thier abs and muscles. Really, what's the point of working out for a role, if you're not going to show anything (that pissed me off in The Avengers. The likes of Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner, and no bare chest shots. Pft, you got to be kidding me)

I still think his portrayal in TW was his best yet but that was probably because it focused on him and had a full arc in that film, we got the gruff angry loner who found redemption. I think the unrated version helps as we got more brutal action as well.

But yeah still loved him in DOFP, sometimes less is more and he crushed it again with what he had. Not like we wont see more of him anyway.:cwink:

I liked that he was out of his depth in the past with mentoring Xavier and fighting sentinels and Magneto, but he kept trying and doing his best anyway. A true bad ass.

I have some issues with the way Wolverine's inclusion affected other characters' storylines, but it would be churlish for me to say that I didn't absolutely enjoy Hugh Jackman's return to the team movies. I think that the X1 Wolverine is still my favourite, but his turn as the unlikely mentor was great. The scene where he first wakes up in the 70s is one of my favourites in the film (and no not because's of Hugh's bum, I still find this later-day form too veiny and buffed to be hot).

Hugh killed it again. He was great in this even more so than " The Wolverine " which i disliked. BTW who redesigned his metal claws. They are easily the best i have ever seen them in these films imo. The shape and texture was great , im not a fan of bone claws but i knew they were going to be in the majority of this film. It just sucks thats its taken 6 films to get the claws right only to see them for a few seconds...sigh. Oh well , oh and just to add Hugh was in top top shape. He IS Wolverine

Jackman was jacked up and look his best as Wolverine in this film. I also like that he got to show more character this time around and not just action. although even the scene in the kitchen with Charles and the security guards, I love how he had no patience and just dismantles them with a frying pan.

Look at the scene where he's walking down the stairs in the new altered time line and looking at Storm; the veins on his arms are basically begging to get out!

You know, Wolverine should never EVER try and fight Magneto again. It always ends badly for him, damn that look painful. I can just imagine him thinking "I don't even have a metal skeleton now and he still kicks my ass."

Pls give us an awesome solo logan film in 2016..

Hugh jackman deserves an wolvie film in the class of dk, tws, iron man....etc

It's another reason I loved that, "You want to pick this **** up?" line. It was so fun to see Wolverine boss Magneto around for once.

I think that was the most brutal beating he took in all the movies, though. Sheesh... :wow:

They might be one ach other's side for a bit In Apocalypse if my some of my suspecions
on how they adopt Age of Apocalypse come close to being right.

Wolverine will open Apocalypse with the bone claws. Unless they speed up the Stryker route.

Xmen: Apocalypse should open around 1982

Or he'll get the adamantium from Apocalypse.

I think they will take influence from the twelve storyline and have Apocalypse give Wolverine his adamanturm and make him his brainwashed servent.
Just imainge wolverine being sent to assassinate people for Apocalypse.

That also opens door for Xavier to try to free Wolverine from Apocalypse's control.

If they want some event to cause him going bald mental strain from freeing wolverine's mind would work.
