<His name's Von Doom! That alone->

WONT YOU GIMME SOME SATISFACTION?..

I admit that as a long time Doom fanatic, I was upset with the portrayal that was being put together. However, I always supported the decision of casting Julian as Victor but I wasn't worried about how he would do as Doom but with what material they would give him.

As we get closer to the finished product, I've seen my share of footage and countless articles about Doom, and while it won't be a comic counterpart, there will be enough there for me to enjoy this version of Doom.

Well, having read the novel, there's nearly NOTHING from the comic book that is still in there. There's the mask, and even that he loses later on. And he's in green... And he's got a grudge against Reed, but for all the wrong reasons. Anyway, sorry, doesn't want to change the way you look at it, i'm just surprised you can still find "something" in there that is Doom.

I just watched the behind the scenes footage...As much Avi Arad bashing I've done here, I'd like to at least give him props for saying, "The bigger the villain, the bigger the hero.." It's just a true statement. Too bad, he and the F4 production company didn't film a big villain for this movie.
However, The way they said that Victor's character isn't developed until the end of the film shows signs of hope at least, but according to all the reports I've heard about everyone who has read the novelization, all the bad news still holds too much water....

I have thought about this and I have come to this conclusion. Doom's movie origin is 10 times better than his comic book origin. I hear some crying and complaining that it isn't faithful but faithful does not always great. His comic book origin is not believable, ridiculous, and unrealistic. His movie origin is believable and much better in the sense that he has a closer connection to the Fantasatic Four and a BETTER reason for being Doctor Doom. Does anyone else feel the same as me?

Red i do hope you know honey...that you might have just started a major conflict....LOL

Could someone PLEASE state for me:

1) Doom's ACCURATE/COMIC origin

2) Doom's MOVIE origin

THANKS!

History: Victor Von Doom was raised by gypsies in a small European county called Latveria. He lost both of his parents at a very young age. Swearing revenge, Victor began to increase both his scientific and mystical knowledge with such determination that he was given a full scholarship to Empire State University. It was at ESU that Victor met Reed Richards and Ben Grimm, and where he started his extradimensional research. Doom's vanity prevented him from adjusting the schematics to one of his experiments, and the end result was an explosion that scarred Victor for life. Expelled from school, Victor began to travel the world, eventually stumbling upon a village of Tibetan monks who trained him and crafted him a suit of body armor, complete with face plate. He soon returned to Latveria, overthrew the government and crowned himself King. Ruling with an iron fist, Doom began to turn the resources of his small nation to his plans of world domination.

movie doom

He is a CEO of his own company...he is from Latveria which is talked about in the movie....and there is a big point made in the end.....

Red, I can respect your opinion but I gotta disagree.

Actually I agree with you man.maybe because Im one of the newer Ff fans but making Doom have powers will make the Latervians believe he is a god or somethingand then he will be the ruler and a dictator. Also he has a grudge against Reed for starting the mission and wants to destroy all of the 4.

And why did you leave out the experiment that left him scarred? That is one of the most ridiculous elements.

Yeah...having your skin transform into metal is a hell of a lot more real than putting on an advanced battle suit.

I get it.

Good, at least there are a couple of more people getting this.
