I can't think of a single origin movie aside from Superman where the villain isn't connected to the heroes

Doom should be connected to the Four so that's all well and good but if he has powers it's likely he'll get them either because of the four or around the same time in the movie as pretty much every origin where a villain gets powers is because of them or at the same time as them...

Batman creates Joker
Spider-Man gets his at the same time as Goblin
Monger gets his from Iron Man
Abomination gets his in reaction to Hulk
Magneto is enabled to control his power better by Xavier
Lizard gets his by way of Spider-Man

This is exactly why they shouldn't be connected. It's cliche'. But unfortunately UFF is filled with cliche's, so it seems that's what we're stuck with.:csad:

Dooms been connected to Reed in all versions though

Yes, but Doom needs to be connected to ONLY Richards with bitter hatred, NOT getting his powers etc in space along with the 4...it takes away from the complex detailed origin that Lee/Kirby created...this is why I think Doom should get his own movie when he comes home to Disney so that we can see the incredible backstory told uninterrupted....

I wish they would have gone for the more faithful costume for Green Goblin because yeah...the suit they went with was pretty mediocre.

Makes me wonder all of the designs they went through to end up on that one.
 That looks like a cartoon character... I'll take what we got over that, any day.

When has Disney ever really invested in Marvel villains? Only Loki has gotten any real character development.

Reed Richards can't reach this far...

There's a huge difference between knowing someone or getting powers at the same time and getting powers from the same source. Green Goblin wasn't bitten by the same spider that bit Peter, Joker wasn't driven mad by seeing Bruce's parents get killed, Abomination wasn't in the lab with Banner when he was made into the Hulk, etc.

Putting Victor in the accident with them isn't just lazy writing, it robs the character of his ability to showcase his intelligence by making his own powers via tech and magic.

Zod wants Superman's DNA.
Loki was also raised by Odin.
Ra's trained Batman.
Red Skull took the same super soldier serum as Captain America.
It really goes on and on.

Abomination wouldn't have become the abomination if not for being whipped by Hulk. Batman dropped Joker into the vat. Goblin wasn't bitten by the same Spider but he was changed at the same time.

Point is most of the time the hero and villains are connected and often in origins they get their powers at the same time as or because of the hero

Absolutely correct, and villains are their weakest area out of ten movies they've had one standout.

If they hadn't sold the Fantastic Four and were doing a movies it's a fair certainty Doom would be forgettable

Doom holds a memorable place in the Marvel pantheon...something tells me the good doctor would FINALLY have his day in the sun at Marvel...but until then, he will rot in the bowels of of Fox's hell....

I think it would be interesting if Doom was on the mission, but was the only one to not get powers. So while the others all are terrified of their powers, Doom is jealous, leading to his pursuit of magic.

Aside from Magneto and Mystique the same can be said for the X-Men films.

oh snap

lololololololololololol :( get in the MCU f4 this is bull****

My goodness.

I get that they're trying to add their own spin on the franchise, but this is gonna be a disaster.

Most people probably have convinced themselves that they will hate this no matter what.

As a non-FF fan, I haven't been really affected by the past news, but this one genuinely made me laugh out loud...because now I'm sure this film's hype is in the negatives as far as the fanbase is concerned.

Is there any more hope to drain? :funny:

there's no ****ing way i'm paying to see this

It's shaping up to be a modern and more expensive version of Roger Corman's Fantastic Four. .

Fox is just making this **** to keep the rights, while Doom would probably have an entire phase devoted to him if he was in the MCU

Doom could've been in the Infinity War smh what a disappointment

**** this movie

was that a joke from Kebbell? That origin can't be real.. come on
