At least the 2005 Doom looked kinda like that comic Doom. I liked his costume well enough.
This Doom ,however, looks awful.

Yeah Doom actually looked serviceable; actually he looked pretty good in RotSS. Too bad it wasn't a silent movie though.

I actually missed the 2005 Fantastic Four film and saw RotSS first. I was actually impressed with the early Doom stuff when he was recovering in Latveria, barely saying anything. That didn't last long.

Funny enough, Doctor Doom is one of the EASIEST villains to translate to screen...so Fox getting it wrong is just laughable.

It's kind of like the Sentinel attitude. Giant robots are stupid and we can't show giant robots fighting the good guys onscreen.

Also, this was a serious take, and considering that Dr. Doom is almost like the prototypical comic book villain, that is the exact opposite of what Kinberg and Trank were going for.

The impulse is to always strip that down for a movie because they don't know how to pull it off without it being bad and cheesy. However, you can say that Dr. Doom is almost like Kim Jong Un except he's actually an evil genius and he actually has the capacity to build doomsday weapons that could threaten the planet. He's a dictator. He's not a hacktivist. He's not an evil CEO. He's like Stalin or Hitler. Except he's an evil genius as well. Hollywood doesn't know how to do it.

I mean as a GI JOE fan, it is hard to express how frustrated I get about Snake Eyes. In the films, they never want to show Snake Eyes capable of romance. Why? Because he's mute. You can't have a mute character have a love interest with Scarlett. It doesn't work or something.

But what if...it gets CGI'd and looks better?

It seems that fans have no patience these days... I think that the Doom's look will undergo evolution in the sequels (or maybe even in this movie).

We all know that this is how the Iron Man looks in all his movies.

I mean, when I first saw it I imagined that this was supposed to be Doom before he conquers Latveria, when he's living in squalor and wearing gross raggy clothes.

Maybe, maybe not, but there's a lot of ways they could go with it.

That's all I'm bothering with but there are loads more. Going back I'd almost forgotten how obnoxious certain posters have been, and for how long.

I saw the flick…Doom is pretty bad. Apparently Doom having the scanner powers is a thing? I mean, I don't recall Doom making peoples heads explode in the comics.

Doom is really just green energy fused in the containment suit.

Am I the only one to kind of like the way he looks? Obviously, not accurate to the comics, but still manage to be threatning enough to be a badass vilain IMO. And that is the most important thing about Doom.

Didn't Psychokolossus review the movie and say that he loved it and saw it twice? So he's obviously another one who likes the Doom "costume".

If we're being objective, both of those designs are pretty silly looking. One of them is just more faithful than the other one.
