Yeah, most elements of this are very different from UFF which leaves me scratching my head when people seem to think it's faithful to it. It is very roughly based on UFF, but the story and characters seem very different. For example:
1. Doom has a different name and the character seems very different and the 'post-transformation' Doom isn't recognizable. And from what we know or has been rumored or we can infer from the trailer, Doom's story isn't close to what we saw in UFF.
2. There is no Arthur Molekevic who was a key character in UFF and the FF's origin. We have a Harvey Elder (616 Moleman), but his character seems completely different from either the UFF or 616 character.
3. In UFF they didn't have missions into the N-Zone tied into their origin. Their first large scale experiment blew up and resulted in their powers.
4. In UFF, Reed joined the Baxter Building as a child. Here we see him apparently as an adult wide-eyed as he sees the Baxter Building for the first time.
5. There weren't any 'containment suits' in UFF.
etc. etc. etc. This film may be closer to UFF than 616, but it certainly isn't very faithful to UFF.
