That's a great Apocalypse effort for a fan!

i don't ever want to see that movie again
Any redeeming quality in it?

Chronicle, followed by the Fantastic Four movies (ALL of them), followed by Captain America (1990). On an endless loop in the common TV room.
This will be fun.
Lots of jokes cracked fun.

The mansion doesn't have a TV. It's a cardboard box.

No wonder we've been watching the same episode of Frasier for 9 years.
At least it's not Big Bang Theory.

Strip away the flash-sideways purgatory horse**** and season 6 of Lost and its finale is pretty good.
I didn't think it was bad, enjoyed it even, but it was still a big, cowardly cop out on the overall premise and mystery given how the series had been built up & how it started.

I hated the Lost finale, personally. It still wasn't Dexter or HIMYM bad, though.
How did Dexter end? (in tags) I think these shows that are based on a unique, specific and often clever concept have a struggle to find a satisfactory ending.

We need to add in all the video game movies.

What do I think of every video game movie I saw thus far:

Mortal Kombat = Fun
Street Fighter = Fun
Mortal Kombat Annihilation = So bad it's fun to have someone else to help make fun of it
Street Fighter Legend of Chun Li = What on Earth is that?
Tekken = Fun
Dead or Alive = Naughty, and fun
Tekken 2 = CRAP
King of Fighters = WTF? At least it's not Kazuya's Revenge.
Resident Evil movies = eh-eh, from watchable to meh.
Prince of Persia = Entertaining, More like the Lion King
Double Dragon = if Guardians of the Galaxy was bashed for being terrible, you get this movie
Super Mario Bros = Just nah

So James Horner did the Southpaw movie for free and paid his own crew out of his back pocket.

Fuqua also told NPR that Horner did the Southpaw score for free because he was such a fan of the film.
"He called me on a Saturday, after he watched the movie, and I said, 'I don't have any money' because it wasn't a big budget movie," Fuqua explained. "And he said to me, 'I love the movie. I love the father-daughter relationship. Don't worry about the money. I'm just going to do it.'

And he did it for nothing. He paid his crew out of his own pocket."

He also scored Antoine's The Magnificent Seven using only the script and didnt tell Antoine that he was doing it. Jame's people delivered it to Antoine the other day. So now whoever does the score can base it off of and use material, music, and notes that Jame's left behind.

Not to step on James Horner´s toes, as he probably did an excellent job on the musical score, but why not use Elmer Bernstein´s original score for the remake
?

Let's see...
Debra, Dexter's beloved sister who'd been the victim of horrible character assassination for the last 2 seasons, ends up getting shot by some escaping crook, is seemingly saved, then goes brain dead from a stroke after a blood clot or something so Dexter takes her off life-support and dumps her in the ocean w/ the rest of his victims. He sends his girlfriend, who's an even messier/sloppier serial killer than him, off to some other country for safety with his son w/ the promise of meeting them later, then attempts suicide-by-hurricane. That's right, he drives his boat into a hurricane in an apparent attempt to end it all. Messy girlfriend reads of his death in a newspaper at whatever exotic locale they ended up at. But Dexter survived and now lives as a lumberjack in Oregon, having abandoned his son to be raised by Messy Also-Serial-Killer Girlfriend, cuz she's just misunderstood and is totally great mom material. And that's where it ends. Sad Lumberjack Dexter.

And I agree, I rarely enjoy the endings to TV shows as much as I want to. Only endings I can think of that I loved even more than expected were Breaking Bad and Angel. Plenty of others were mostly satisfactory but not what I'd rank with the best episodes that the shows had offered throughout their run.

That never happens. Least I know of no instance when the score for the original was used in a full remake. And sometimes rights are an issue.

I just finished reading 11/22/63 by Stephen King. Man, I enjoyed that. Between Watchers by Dean Koontz, Mystic River by Dennis Lehane, and now 11/22/63... I'm on a role on reading good books. That's pretty good following a run of books I really didn't enjoy. Now I have to finish reading Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane and find a new audio book to listen to at work. I'm thinking maybe The Terminal Man by Michael Crichton.

I haven't had anything to eat today. Also, I have spent all day reading Cracked articles.

This has been your DJ update for 7 pm EST

I called my family in St. Pete. They said they'll come pick you up for some tacos. Be ready in 30 minutes.

How much trouble will I get into if I skip Jury Duty? I already postpone twice.
